Maybe I'm being crazy right now but, every race has their own belief system except blacks :lupe:

Whites (Christianity, Judaism, Catholicism)
Arabs/Middle Eastern (Islam)
Asians (Buddhism, Hinduism)
Native Americans (whatever nature gods they worshipped)

Blacks have been force fed our oppressors' religion. African Spiritualism has been ridiculed as Paganism/Voodoo but, I bet they weren't praying to a white Jesus. Slavery and African colonialism did a number on us. We'll never know how much of our identity they really stole from us or burned to the ground. Having a strong belief system is one of the pillars of a community and we're following one from a foreign group. Or one that has been distorted heavily by a foreign group.

It's stupid to wonder what different belief systems Africans followed before Christianity and Islam swept through the continent? Why is that stupid?
I shook my head when you believed that white people had Christianity and Judaism as their own belief system.

White people adapted Christianity, it didn't originate with them.

At a high level? Accountability.
What does this have to do with the trinity, resurrection, miracles, virgin birth, etc?

Not everyone is necessarily disciplined enough to hold themselves in check when it comes to their decisions or actions, particularly when no one's looking; I think there are a lot of themes in the major organized religions that offer a good template to live by.
Thats speaking very lowly of the capacity for humans to act in a way that benefits society

Even further this suggests that you don't even believe in religion. You use it as a source of control over those too stupid to see through it.

There's also community. Some people seek that in fraternities; others with their work; or they create communities with their friends or neighbors, or stay close and involved with their extended family. For those that don't have that (for whatever reason), shared faith can provide.
You don't need to believe in superstition to have community.

Social consciousness and obligation is something that religion touches on. Helping others is a theme in pretty much every organized religion. And like I said, the overwhelming majority of atheist simply aren't motivated to do that unless it DIRECTLY affects them. Religions challenge you to go beyond that.
Again, altruism is found in all social species and not limited to religion

None of these are exclusive to Christianity; and I don't think these are bad things. They're definitely applicable to furthering the black community, and if they're things that you want to see develop despite religious influence then that's fine as well - but don't knock anyone who uses religion as motivation.
Nothing you've mentioned is internally unique to religion.

Okay. I was mistaken. But Im pretty sure I wrote "a religion another group distorted".....because even if it wasn't originated by whites, they've appropriated it and twisted it in their image all the same. So my point is still valid. There is definitely no place for blacks in the Arab world. And Christianity has been a tool used to manipulate and pacify blacks for the last 300 years. Blacks are a lost people. We don't know our history, our origins, anything. Why is it stupid to ask whether or not following another group's religion has contributed to that? I'm just wondering what different belief systems we followed prior to being slaves.

I don't care if afircans invented christianity, its still bullshyt and founded on a bunch of unscientific, irrational, and utterly shameful set of assertions.
