Society itself pressures you to have a girlfriend and eventually marry her just like it pressures you to go to college when you graduate from high school because that's what people do. Back then my mind wasn't capable of realizing you didn't have to do these things. You could carve out an unconventional path for yourself if you wanted. There's a lot of people that just accept the life society hands to them. It took other people to show me you can do things different to break society's hold on my mind. After that hold broke I started looking around and I saw people saying the same type of stuff I was when I was brainwashed by society.

I bet if I told you I've been dating the same woman for 20 years your first thought would be why aren't yall married yet? And do you know why you'd think that? Because that's what society told you to think.

I'm generalizing because I understand that there are exceptions to every rule but in general most of the guys I know that are in relationships entered them to appease the woman that demanded commitment. Most of the guys I know around my age that are married got married because either they had kids by accident or because they dated the same woman for so long that pressure pushed them to propose and get married.

How many young guys dream of being a husband when they grow up? How many young woman dream of having a huge wedding, marriage, and babies? When women are children look at the toys they play with, a play house with Barbie and Ken. They play with baby dolls. How many nikkas you knew plating with houses and baby dolls?

Society pressures us to do a lot of things, its up to whether or you're going to fall victim to those things and in your case you did, now you feel as if every man thats happily married, in a long term committed relationship, or single with the idea that they want to be with the one has been pressured. Not all ways the case and you fail to acknowledge that.

Not everyone is a slave to society's hold and they are *gasp* happy with the choices they made in life and they weren't pressured to do it. It is weak minded tho to feel as if you have to take life's cookie cutter path no matter how unhappy it males you.
