Yeah, that's been my experience. No issues with civilian jobs where most of the people were ex military. For some reason, people that were never in the military have this weird resentment or preconceived notions of how all military people are. I think it all stems from the whole support our troops/ptsd awareness that's been going on for the past 10+ years. Trying out mission impossible now and switching from the job field I did in the military, security systems tech, to game design after finally finishing my degree in that last month...The funny thing is the only classmates I've kept in touch with from school were the guys that were ex military. Everybody else kinda brushed off any plans for building games after finishing classes.
That might be difficult because it's not military oriented but believe me, if you were an excellent student that military experience should help you look better...
But it's not guaranteed. Most of the jobs I've been offered are strictly military related. Not artistic. That's probably one field where your background doesn't hold as much importance being a vet.
And it's understandable
But if your grades are A1, plus military skills, then you are in that 10% bro.
As long as you stay out of trouble, good credit, good military resume, good degree, you could be a fukking politician if you wanted.
And military cats kinda gravitate to each other. It's like a bind or understanding that most people don't grasp unless you been there. Most my friends outside of the military are vets even if they're younger or older. We all got that understanding on how shyt operates.
I got 0 bodies under me (directly) and I'm cool with that. I didn't join to kill others... I joined to go to school, get foreign p*ssy, and get experience. I accomplished all my goals and real nikkas respect it. Now I'm just trying to survive
