It's not pessimism, we talking reality. Your Alabama's of the world were built off the wealth of American Slavery, meanwhile schools like JSU were started by freed slaves themselves. These HBCU's can't compete, unless they get massive funding from the govt.

For fukks sake, Prime refrenched Clemson in the article. JSU's endowment is 60M, Clemson's is $700M. On top of that, Clemson and other top football schools have boosters, the Gramblings of the world don't have that.
It maybe current reality but it doesn't have to be future reality.

I'm surprised Nike didn't throw a bag at Deion down there.

Then again he hasn't had much positive to say about Nike in the last 10 years.
I’m pretty sure he with Under Armour

Saying that, it’s very expensive to build up a football program and most schools aren’t interested. That’s why Jackson St is in FCS and not FBS.

Having high star recruits go to HBCU is not asking them to sacrifice their future careers or lives. It to start a trend of considering HBCU in order to bolster the quality of life of those schools as we represent a great portion of the talent in these sports, why not cultivate and facilitate that talent through our schools.

It is simply the first logical step in getting money to begin flowing into HBCU sports programs.

Granted state and private schools have had decades of cash flowing in, so of course there is no comparison to the current state of HBCU.

Yet, that is not to say what the future state could be if this becomes prevalent.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
4 things will happen.

1. Jackson St will have marginal success and eventually Prime gives up and takes a head coaching job at another school
2. Prime will turn the program around and then leave once he gets offers from bigger programs.
3. Jackson St will become a major program leaving the other HBCU's in the dust which will prompt them to move up to 1-A
4. Other HBCU's will copy Jackson St and/or other former NFL players will get inspired by Prime and go to other HBCU's to try to duplicate the success.

This the picture i try to paint for folks in these just go to hbcu, to die on they hill, it really is a difference between hbcu and pwi and if folks want kids to make a leap to hbcu’s you gotta create a landing place (i.e. invest money)
The difference is because of white supremacy.

JSU just had a Nike deal . Not understanding what sort of apparel was generic. Y’all must be talking about practice unis .

Just prime being prime. Prime all about his money.Prime has personal contract with Under Armor. Even at his introductory press conference he had towels covering the nike logo.

Wouldnt surprise me if his personal contract pays more the more he is seen on Tv wearing UA.

call them out instead of indirectly talking shyt:yeshrug:

It's blatantly obvious.

They will cheer and give props to a school like Alabama and shyt on HBCU's even though this was only 64 years ago.

Which means the sons, daughters and grandchildren still roam the campuses and neighborhoods.
