Again, it just seems like trading just for the sake of saying you didn't lose him for nothing. If the Kings aren't getting franchise changing players back, trading him is pointless. Even if they traded for Love, then it would just be a story of who they can trade Love for so they wouldn't lose him for nothing the next year.

If a team has a short window and minimal cap flexibility, a free agent leaving can be a problem but the Kings have nothing to lose. All they can do is hope to draft another player like him in the near future.

if you are going to lose him for nothing it is always better to acquire an asset....There is nothing wrong with that kind of move...I bet you OKC wish KD would of let them know earlier he wasn't resigning.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Celtics are going to get Jared Sullinger and hype you Celtics fans up at the trade deadline with Ainges lowball trade offers and at the draft...And you will come back with the same team and continue to add a piece so that you end up a top 3 team in the East.

In all honesty, the Celtics owner said yesterday they were having trade talks with a rumored bad chemistry guy and the price has gone done significantly since draft day. It's pretty much an exact quote. I'd imagine it's cousins or okafor, possibly butler but who knows what they're thinking

You can argue Wade now gives them the power to move butler or that Wade means they keep him

That's why Boston makes more sense

If we didn't get horford I could see us trying to get love and make this a three way but I don't know how love fits with the Celtics now

Hmm I wonder what they are offering.

Of course give the Kings garbage for their franchise player, if I'm not mistaken the goal of a rebuilding franchise is to get either draft picks, young players or Expiring contracts which Kevin Love/Shumpert and basically early second rounder(s) do not fit the description. Since we're talking about Cleveland getting rid of their garbage for franchise players How about LeBron Offers a package Centered on Richard Jefferson/Channing Frye and picks to the Pelicans for Anthony Davis so he can play PF.

The Thunder couldn't have traded him anyway, they had an outside chance of going all the way this year. Trading him at the deadline would have generated so many "what if?"s.

I don't think it's always better to acquire an asset. If you lose your player, you have 25-30 million to spend in free agency, so you're not getting "nothing". The players won't be as good as Cousins, especially since the good players won't want to sign in Sacramento, but the players in a trade package aren't going to be as good as Cousins either. The best case scenario in one of those trades is getting unprotected picks from several years out. Taking some random veterans that the other team finds expendable isn't necessarily better than getting nothing.

OKC is not getting a star free agent outside of possibly Blake.

Why wouldnt the Kings just trade him to another team for a better return?
What better return?

It's not like Kevin Love became a terrible player or something, he just doesn't fit in Cleveland (even though now that T. Lue has a full training camp with him I think we'll see more from him). He could probably duplicate what Cousins has been giving them anyway.

Brolic... Alcoholics
Doesnt make sense. Especially with that pick being in the mid 20s or 30s next draft. Only place he could go would be Boston with all of those picks and midlevel talent they have.

the Celtics could easily give a better return than CLE

Lakers too. Id rather roll with Russell and Randle than paying Love right now

Love wouldnt even be around once this team could ever be competitive

Plenty more teams can beat a Kevin Love offer too, dont see how this even a question
