As someone with the belief that elections are won based on perception & branding (maybe <5% of the voting base has a FIRM understanding of policy initiatives of either candidate) the fact that being a D is just not cool anymore (to younger people & compared to 08) is a problem. It has nothing to do with the trans vote it has to do with the low Black turnout. Other than 2020 because of George Floyd, the Dems have not figured out how to get Black people to turnout at near Obama levels since he left office. I personally believe that the Dems going so hard for illegal immigration hurt them more than trans.
