I'm not a Maine voter dog. You don't sound like you actually want to win the state , instead keep ating me about the purity test you hate. You do realize mills is one of if not the least liked governor in the nation right ? Collins will absolutely smoke her considering she already admired she's doing a good job. There's one candidate in the race who is actively praising Collins in current times and it's not Platner. And for the millionth time, progressives/leftists are much more forgiving about unclean backgrounds as long as you're actively pushing progressive policies. This grace doesn't apply to people with bad backgrounds pushing bad policies.

I hate to agree with Jonathan Martin on this but Dems do continue to fall in love with these anti-establishment characters and later regret it.
If Platner wasn't a complete political newbie, I could see wanting to give him some grace on "evolving" but when he faces Collins in the general - his dirty laundry is going to outshine his campaign with no political history to lean on.

Susan collins ran as a moderate positioned herself hence why 70% of democrats voted for her in 2014. You don't understand maine politics its best to stop discussing them its Alabama north

It's Maine dog I'm not sure if you're aware but this was considered a safe seat for republicans due to the lack of quality candidates before platner. If you want democrats to not be looked at as the party of the elites and wealthy you have to run regular people. Regular people will have skeletons in their closet, the days of cancel culture of politicians by the media is dead. Republicans have been playing by a different set of rules for 10 years now, its time for dems to get on board as well. That's the problem, this isn't just "skeletons". Buddy only has his military background and being a "regular person" to fall back on for qualifications to a Senate seat in which you just admitted, has been historically GOP dominated. He has used his time in the Marines as the reason behind the tattoos, incel-like behavior and bigotry. So what makes him a "quality candidate" that is going to make the GOP nervous? Look at his primary competition, he should be outperforming them.
You and a lot of others are on the Planter bandwagon simply because he's anti-establishment.
That's how its supposed to be, congress isn't supposed to be dominated by rich donors and people that only can run if they get the right backing by the establishment. Irregardless of that this is how I see the seat.
If dems take down platner I have collins winning re-election against mills in a blow out.
