Ya progressives mad delusional and arrogant. Mamdani won in a deep blue area…..the centrist Dems was winning in red areas.

:russ:

“Oh yeah Mamdani can win as a progressive in Cat Piss, Mississippi too!”

:dead:
Its funny cause AOC is too shy to even announce she wants to run for US Senate or let a cycle pass :dead:

It’s all fun and games until you gotta leave that island huh? :mjpls:

I get what you’re saying but I personally don’t think liberals should prop up any religion institutionally. Keep religion in household
I don't think you do. This isn't about propping up any religion. I'm not a religious person. It's about not fostering or excusing obvious prejudice. The issue is that there's a double standard in how outrage and accountability work. When antisemitism shows up, it's condemned across the board, as it should be. But when it's Islamophobia -- even from high-profile liberals -- it's tolerated or rationalized. That inconsistency says a lot about whose humanity we collectively choose to defend and whose we choose to deny.

a democrat who flips a red seat is more valuable than any deep blue democrat. Mamdani has not had a competitive campaign yet. It’s just been dunking on people with actual political careers. We’ll see how bright and sunny he is when he gets challenged by someone who critiques his errors.
Yes you right he only beat the favorite who wss endorsed by the democrat party

I guess it boils down to Christianity and Judaism as practiced in America is more compatible with secularism than fundamentalist Islam.

Buddhist, Hindus or Taoist don’t experience the same type of discrimination

I dont want any more islamic influence in society than I do christian influence. I’m an atheist. I thought progressives were secular...
You're conflating opposing bigotry with supporting religion. I'm not religious and don't want any faith steering policy, but that's not what this is about. It's about how Islamophobia has become socially acceptable, especially among people who call themselves Liberals. If secularism is the principle, it should apply evenly, not selectively. It been obvious how people like you try to hide behind the claim of secularism to mask your prejudice.

Asians are seen as model minority, it has nothing to do with the religion and instead the people and where they come from. The same way americans look down on other Christians from south America. Islamophobia is rooted in racism and bigotry not religion

but again....Mamdani won a democratic primary, as a pro-palestine muslim, in the most liberal place in the country :dead:

yes, he DID kick Cuomo's ass. that's great. but it's not even detracting from him, to ask; how is that race remotely indicative of how things go in the swing states?
What do these even have to do with one another? The takeaway for the party should simply be run the right people at the right time and place.

Mamdani was perfect for NYC. Spenberger was great for VA, but you could say anyone would have worked there given the mass federal firings motivating Dems to vote.
