In all honesty, ever since I heard someone say Shaun was pocketing donation money meant for the families of victims of police violence to live off of I have to give him a side eye. Although seemingly his heart and mind are in the right place...he's suspect until further notice. Same with Deray. Like besides tweeting what do they do? Now that tye protests been over they exploit injustice as a hustle and lowkey it's sickening if this is what it has come down to.

And this is why social media can be bullshyt. Who took Deray or Shaun as an authority on anything before Ferguson? No one. They bumrushed twitter to notoriety off of the bodies of black men slain by police. Now they do all of these appearances, practically selling out. I really don't even know why and it makes me think they are more about themselves then fighting injustice.

That's what money does. Pay attention. Both Deray and Shaun get alot of criticism on twitter from others. At the end of the day, these guys all agendas aside are not who they seem to us.

Yea I don't trust Deray or Shaun. You have a good point that they bum rushed Twitter and became unofficial leaders. Shaun King also is a white man isn't he? On his birth certificate, both of his parents are white. I loved when Jason Black went at him on his YouTube interview, exposing him.

Yes. I believe Shaun is white. He claimed to be half black/biracial. He was exposed. That's two strikes already. I wouldn't be surprised if Deray and Shaun were both agents at this point.

Yea I mean he has done so much work in exposing police corruption and in the community...he didn't have to lie. The fact he did lie though was disappointing cause he seemed way too upfront in his approach to activism to not tell the truth. It creates a seed of doubt. I still generally support what they do but I really am questioning why peopoe like him and Deray are on The Breakfast Club and Colbert Report and have corporate sponsors and millionaire backing....if they are/were supposed to be grassroots.

Trying to market gay and other minority issues is another hustle being exploited for money. Where is their paper trail what is their main job? I know Deray was a teacher...what's Shaun's background? Why are these guys so loud yet we don't really know that much about them. They are opportunists at the end of the day...even though the good works they perform will eventually outweigh the negatives they got caught up with around the way.

This is what @CashmereEsquire was saying in the "Is BLM going nowhere thread". What do they do for a living? How do they pay the bills? How are they able to travel around the country and go to all of these rallies and tv shows and presentations? It is so fishy.

He lied about his race so he could get a scholarship from Oprah. That means he took an opportunity away from another African-American, who then most likely had to go the financial aid route.

The irony is that Deray is fighting for gay rights when white gays don't even fukk with Black gays.

They have segregated gay pride events. There's a Black gay pride and a white gay pride in every major city.

They have segregated clubs and drag shows. There are white gay clubs and there are Black gay clubs.

White gay men treat the black gays like shyt. They don't fukk with each other at all!

He worked as a teacher in a section of New York known for police scandals right around the time that a black off duty officer was shot by a plainclothes maybe less than a mile away due to "suspicion." But he only just realized that police brutality was an issue 2 years because of something that happened 700 miles away from him. Not even anything in his own city where recent arrivals from Somalia and various Native reservations have to deal with police oppression everyday.

A lot doesn't add up.
