Damn near all of y'all are clueless on this one.

Utah pretty much saved $10+ mil by doing this now. Favors is gonna break out simply by getting the minutes Jefferson and Millsap got. It's WAY more likely that he looks like a max player given the production he's already put out in than him not playing good enough to where you let him go.

What would you pay a 22 year old big man that could very well average 15 and 10 with 2 blocks a game?

I guess the Jazz probably figure they have to overpay since they'll NEVER get quality a free agent. :manny:

You DO realize they LET Al and Millsap go right? Those were two players that turned out to be someone else's quality free agent.

that's a mighty steep price to pay for potential. and he's been in the league 4 years and has been pretty mediocre the entire time.

That just proves you never watched him play.

Not about age hes been in the league 4 years and still has no offensive game hes not gonna magically develop one either, paying that much for a guy who plays one side of the floor is stupid

It's the NBA. For every 10 players, 8 of them get paid to play one side of the court.

Its not a bad deal for Utah. You have to overpay for height and size in the league anyway, might as well give the money to a guy you can keep in house for a few years and potentially use as a building block.

His numbers stretched to a per 36 average amount to 15/10/2 blocks. If he manages to do two out of three of those, Utah wins because that is a solid big man in the league nowadays.

He won't tell us how Joakim Noah looked when he wasn't getting 30 minutes a game and what happened when he finally got more PT.

Getting an extra 10-12 mpg does WONDERS for bigs that already put in work off the bench

He's shown his potential as a starter, he;s just had two all star caliber big men ahead of him........With Kanter that frontcourt got a bright future

But the Jazz are a small market they got to do what they got to do to keep the prime talent around.......

Dwight been in the league twice as long and still has none and is a max player...Favors can be a 15/10 player in this league easily playing 35-40 mins and a good defender, ppl pretending to forget he was playing behind Al Jeff and Milsap...

But Dwight is a dominant rebounder and the best defensive player in the league when healthy

NBA salary cap should be raised to 70M, 58M is not enough to have two max players and keep key role players. :manny:

He's not a max player with this salary. Kanter on the other hand may fukk around and get max dough since he'll have a year headstart to put up numbers.

For everyone talking about they can't attract free agents and etc.,

Kanter- 21
Favors- 22
Hayward- 23
Burks- 22
Burke- 21 in November

and another guy that could be key moving forward is Rudy Gobert and he's 21.

One more high lotto pick that they'll have next year. Who exactly would Utah even try to target to upgrade over that core? All they need is a bench.

Yes and he has no post game which is crazy when you thnk about for a player in the L for almost a decade.
Favors with mins can be just as dominant on the glass and be a great defender, hes already good but playing 35 mins a night he can be an anchor something that the two guys playing in front of him were not and were a reason that team couldn't go anywhere with them starting...
