He doesn't have to call his phone, but sitting down with the FO + Melo and pitching personally and collectively why he should come could go a long way. If anything else, it'll show that Rose and the Bulls are on the same page with what direction they're headed in.

Bulls Brass knows Rose would love Melo there... I'm sure they'll let him know that when they meet... As far "how do I know" that's just how these things go.... I just doubt he's going into this thing trying to be swayed... His agents and handlers probably had shyt mapped out for a while now.

On the contrary, besides visiting Dallas and LA (where the leverage angle comes into play), he wants to be swayed - he wants a team to sell him the dream. He'll only leave NY if a team can convince him that it'll be beneficial to leave money on the table + moving his family, in favor of competing for a championship.
