And you think Rose out of ALL people is the one that can sway somebody??
If it shows that he and the FO are on the same page, of course.
That's not in him man... I'm sure Melo knows this... Rose's comments in that article are as much as anybody is getting... His stance has always been "if they wanna be here, they will" and I agree with him.
What you and everybody else that agrees with him has to understand, is that not everybody takes to that sort of 'approach' and that there's always the possibility that any lil' thing, whether it be an appearance or conversation can play a big part in swaying a FA.

This nikka Mute still doesn't get it :snoop:

It's not about being some idiot bandwagon cheerleader, there's nothing wrong with hitting up potential teammates and talk about the team/city they might be coming to. Why does this illiterate, anti social fukk put that shyt beneath him all the time?

@Brozay get mad :umad:

:mjpls: Like he aint never been to Chicago before or know people who has.
:mjpls: Like Noah didn't already speak with Anthony... and like Rose didn't already say he would love to have him on the team and would RECRUIT him if the bulls asked him to making this a nonstory

Noah makes Bulls pitch to Anthony

Updated: March 7, 2014, 9:20 AM ET

Joakim Noah wants to win a ring. To help him achieve that goal, he wants Carmelo Anthony on the Chicago Bulls.

That's why Noah, Chicago's center, approached Anthony over All-Star Weekend last month about joining the Bulls, according to sources with knowledge of the conversation.
The sources said Noah told Anthony something to this effect: You can go to Los Angeles, but if you really want a ring, if you really want your legacy to be about winning, you should come to Chicago.
Anthony responded by telling Noah that he admires how hard the Bulls play and how hungry they are. Anthony also told Noah, according to the sources, that Derrick Rose is his son's favorite player.

Sources said Rose also wants the Bulls to add Anthony and would be willing to help recruit him if he is asked to do so. The conversation between Anthony and Noah started as a discussion about what it's like to play for Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau. With rumors about Chicago going after Anthony as well as about Thibodeau possibly coaching the New York Knicks next season, Anthony wanted to know about Thibodeau. From there, the discussion turned to Noah telling Anthony he should join the Bulls. Knicks coach Mike Woodson steered clear of the recruitment talk. "I'm not going to get into all of that," he said on ESPN New York 98.7 FM's "The Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco Show" Thursday. "You know legally nobody can recruit anyone. You can't do that at this point. Melo is still wearing a Knicks uniform and I hope he stays with the Knicks for the rest of his career. I've always said that. So whatever was said between Noah and the Chicago Bulls, that's on them."

To sign Anthony, the Bulls would have to use its amnesty clause on Carlos Boozer. By removing Boozer's $16.8 million from their cap figure, they will have roughly $15 million to offer Anthony next season. If the Bulls can trade Mike Dunleavy and his $3 million salary, they could start Anthony's deal at about $18 million.
Signing with the Bulls would mean taking a pay cut for Anthony, whose maximum contract with the Knicks would start at $22.4 million a season.

But hey I guess writers need shyt to write about. :mjpls:

But hey I guess writers need shyt to write about. :mjpls:

But why is it beneath the franchise player to go out & recruit a key player to the team? Why is he so anti-social on recruiting players. And Rose has never been asked to recruit so why doesn't he show some initiative to recruit if he's so willing to do it if asked? Y'all can only :cape: for this dude for so long, but shyt ain't adding up

That's just who Rose is. Not about the politicking. That'll hurt the feelings of free agents who are used to people groveling for their services, but it is what it is. :yeshrug:

That's what GM's are for. he shouldn't have to recruit nobody. I could see if he was trying to get him to come to the Bucks or some shyt. Plus that's his equal. Furthermore... why shouldn't Carmelo be the one to sell himself. What is he going to bring to the table. Why does he have to be the one to be wooed. The bulls were winning regardless. I just think this whole "recruiting" nonsense is overrated. Carmelo KNOWS where he wants to go so why even bother. Rose is probably thinking that Carmelo is actually going on trips to other teams. Why waste time/energy on someone that might not come anyway.

Everyone in this topic is forgetting that Rose wants LOVE on his team more so than Melo.

I think I read Harden say he wasn't going to recurit anyone and leave it up to Morey. :manny:

Maybe both Rose and Harden don't want to play with another star player that will demand the ball and could usurp their role as "go to guys" on their teams?:patrice:
This refusal to recruit just seems passive aggressive, if they wanted to play with Melo just call him and hype up your team for 10 minutes and be done with it.

Derrick Rose Uncertain About Participating With USA This Summer

Derrick Rose is uncertain if he will participate in USA Basketball's training camp starting July 28 in Las Vegas.

"I still don't know yet," Rose told Yahoo Sports at the Drew Gooden Foundation Basketball Camp on Sunday. "If I'm feeling right and the time is
, for sure I will go out there. My body is responding good, but you never know.

"Right now, I haven't really thought about that. I am just worrying about just trying to get back every day and I'm really taking rehab one day at a time instead of trying to think about competing."

The USA are loaded at point guard with Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry on the 14-16 28-man roster.
