bro I've lived in Detroit before near Sinai Grace Hospital. The overall mentality is one of apathy and lethargy. There is absolutely no accountability to those who continually exploit and hold the community hostage. Preacher pimps can set up shop on every corner and stand right next to broken and vacant housing. Criminals aka Dope Boys are highly celebrated and regarded as heros. And don't let me get started on the Arabs. The Arabs are running circles around you negroes like its nobody's business. Liquor store, gas stations, coney islands, convenience stores, auto shops...etc. I really do not see how a people who make up more than 80% of the population are economically dominated by such a small group of people and the same time be absolutely content with it! And to top it off your politicians (the one's they've repeatedly voted for) are completely corrupt. Detroiters are responsible for their own lot. They've been given the cards they have dealt and now they must reap the consequences.
The city is changing, especially downtown and soon the blacks will be pushed further into the outskirts as a permanent underclass. And they have no one to blame but themselves. Detroit could've been a beacon for black unity and prosperity. But now it is widely known for its poverty and despair. Had blacks supported their own businesses, voted in politicians with integrity, and invested in their own communities instead of going across 8 mile to spend their money, the city wouldn't be in such bad shape.
I honestly don't see how any black man in Detroit can hold their heads up with dignity. They've failed the very same community they were suppose to protect.
What about all those auto jobs that left the city?
From the outside looking in that appears to be the MAIN reason why Detroit is all fukked up. All that other shyt is just the residual effects of Prolonged exposure to poverty.
Not saying that the people bear no responsibility, b/c me personally, i think a lot of black people have a hand in their own destruction too () but like I said this seems to be the root of the mess in Detroit , And all over the country really.
detroit is no longer a major city. those same chinese businessman and billionaires have more important and profitable investments in nyc, miami, la, sf, etc.
That statement is debatable to say the least, its the 18th most populated city in the united states and is more populated than miami which is on your list.

miami is a small city yes, but it is way more attractive for business (especially international businesses). Being a major US city is not just about population
also the Miami metro area (Miami- Ft Lauterdale-West Palm Beach MSA) is larger than Detroit by nearly 2 million people. Detroit Metro has actually been losing people as well.
They don't produce much in that are but Like the rest of florida Tourism is it bread and butter.
Its all about metro areas in the 21st century. Not just the central City

Businesses thrive where theres enough demand to meet their supply. Seeing the poverty that is plaguing detroit right, you're absolutely correct, but if detroit ever rebounds from the situation its in right now, it would be a more attractive place to start a business.
Slowly starting to happen in Atlanta too. nikkas need to start buying up properties/politicians and keeping this shyt as black as possible.
I gotta condo right in the middle of downtown atlanta, about 2 or 3 blocks from the dome. Right now it's about 99% black but you're starting to see random white people walking around like shyt sweet.

A tent city has popped up just outside of Detroit’s downtown area. As the downtown area has slowly been making progress since the city came out of bankruptcy, the new tent city shows that Detroit is still struggling with a homeless problem. The Resident discusses.

Whenever, listen to my MoTown compilation, it makes me think how Barry took the
BLACKEXCELLENCE sound of the hood and polished it it to become the soundtrack to this
"country" heartbeat. And, even tho I'm from Brooklyn, I know how much of The D embodies our perseverance through struggles
...Sidebar, The Hip-Hop Mayor (always hated they tagged him that, tho) corruption/downfall was embarrassing, and a setback on a hundred, thousand, trillion...literally
What are you basing this on? Either way, i'm not dissing any other city, so what's your agenda with dissing Detroit? Looking real suspect dissing Detroit
on a hip hop board when the nikkas that invented hip hop where influenced by a spin off of a belief system that was created in Detroit. I wouldn't even be typing to you right not had it not been for Detroit culture. Who do you think were spitting ryhmes over beats in the 60's and 70's before the 80's? why do you think the Last poets and even Muhammad Ali dropped rhymes the way they did in the 60's.. of all the way to zulu nation and Rakim....
Anyway Detroit- it will never be the number one manufacturing city in history and the world like it was..
but I doubt the world would be watching it and investing if no form of comeback was possible.
and you're facts about population are based in ignorance - so I'll give you a pass on that. Metro Detroit is the 11th most populous in the nation right now. Plus as the mid west and canada become more connected -----------Detroit is the center of the future Great Lakes Megalopolis (if you know what that is) .
Miami has a population of half a million.... the metro is the 8th most populous.. but that includes cities and areas that are so far out that the people aren't even really MEtro Miami. Metro Detroit's population Are Metro Detroiters.
21% black population is in Miami. 21% black population is Metro Detroit........... I think the difference is 10% of the population in Miami is White Jews. While Metro Detroit has the largest Muslim population both Black and Arab by far.
13 Billion dollars of 'production' depend on Detroit's boarder with Canada. The GDP is 200 Billion
The largest medical center in the United States is Wayne State U ( in the middle of Detroit) and the largest and Michigan University in Metro Detroit is one of the worlds leading research institutions... So chances are when nikkas are quoting wikipedia quotes.......... research was probably done in MI or with people from MI.
None of those other cities you named passed resolutions to protect Assata Shakur. Detroit did. None of those other cities did both MLK and Malcom x visit after they were attached. Mlk was attached... came to Detroit to speak freely. Malcolm X house was bombed.. came to Detroit that same night. I feel like, where else would you go if you are pro black and something bad happens except Detroit Chicago or LA. but that's just my opinion.
The reason i feel it's good for Black people because technology is KEY to our (if your black and From America ) future advancement and the Detroit Area is 4th in high tech employment and every major tech company has opened offices in Detroit in recent years - or will be opening offices. Google, IBM, Quickloans, Compuware, Covansys, etc -- Either headquartered or have their Major hub in Detroit... and the major of the top companies will follow.
