All we can do is raise our kids and instill in them morals and values so that they can combat negative messages and choose right for themselves.

We've been waiting for govt/society to help change the violence in Black community for DECADES now.

It comes to a point where it IS on our shoulders, because obviously no one else gives a fukk about us, but us.

And what if I told you that the parents of these girls DID in fact raise them with morals and values and taught them how to combat negative messages(not sure what that has to do with them being innocently gunned down while engaging in typical college student activities) and taught them how to 'choose right for themselves', as you say...and yet, their lives were still cut short? Because that's exactly what happened. Their parents did everything right, for all we know. They raised their kids successfully enough that they lived to see adulthood, then sent them to college. What more were they supposed to do again?

Not sure if you've ever been to college but that's what college students do; they party, AT THAT TIME. And they should be able to. Those girls did absolutely NOTHING wrong.

this is very unfortunate, at this point in my life, I'm can't even bring myself to attend any parties for leisure, it's just not worth it when considering the probability of conflict, too many unintended targets get hit and all the parents are left with is memories and "we're sorry for your loss".

One thing I noticed from my past experience being a student an HBCU is that whenever there's this magnitude of violence at an off-campus college party it's usually non-students who are responsible -
random, no life having, local b!tch n!ggas who don't even actually have 'beef' with anyone there, they literally just show up just to cause this type of trouble smh.

Yep! Was the same way at A&T off campus parties. Stopped hitting them shyts unless it was a smaller meet up amongst friends and mutual friends.
