I finished the season and I enjoyed it :manny:

I wasn't expecting the whole Iraq-war allegory for the demons:mjlol:

The fights and animations were great aside from the 3D ones.

I was entertained even tho it didn't follow any of the games but DMC never really had deep stories or any type of worldbuilding. I give this credit that there is some interesting setup if this gets renewed.

I enjoyed this particularly the world building.

I've always struggled to contextualize the setting in which the games take place because nothing/nobody else seems to exist outside of the specific stories they tell in each game (eg. First game takes place on an isolated island, third game takes place in a tower, fourth game in some remote city(?))

Simple questions like what year the games are set in and whether or not normal people know about demons existing have always been difficult to answer because there is just no world outside of Dante/Nero and the specific thing they're doing at a given time. So what they did here was quite refreshing whilst still staying true to the "over the top" goofy stuff the series is known for.

I liked Lady's character but between episode 7 and 8 her dialog seemed to change. The constant and unnecessary f-bombs became jarring. Made me feel as though they changed writers for those episodes :why:

That dirtbag Enzo is hilarious :mjlol:

6.5/10 for me

Just finished episode 1 (I will come back to the thread after finishing all episodes).

They're going really on the nose with the US political commentary, huh? LOL

Anyway, as soon as I heard the VP's voice, I knew it was Kevin Conroy (RIP).

Johnny Yong Bosch voiced Vash the Stampede, a gun-wielding guy in a red trench coat in Trigun (1998). Now, he's voicing another gun-wielding guy in a red trench coat. However, Dante isn't a scaredy cat like Vash was.

i know its not canon, but ive always thought that dmc and re could have been in the same universe, so i like that they joked about it

dont like that lucia had a fukking throwaway cameo and didnt even come into the plot. as someone who didnt hate dmc2 that felt unnecessary

:ehh:I actually like that this show has its own canon. And it’s way better than that DmC reboot. Hopefully in season 2 they actually animate Dante’s moveset. Bro didn’t even pull off a stinger smh.
