Possession rules are different when you're falling to the ground in the process of making the catch. You basically got to get up without the ball hitting the ground and hand it to the Ref.

Some of y'all need to understand the bold.

Was he falling or did he get tripped and made a move to protect himself and lunge for the touchdown:patrice:?I guess the fact I don't consider him "falling down" is where we cant agree...That's the difference between this catch and Megatrons,Megatron was falling down without contact....you cant call a player "falling down" if they wouldn't have fallin without the help of the defender imo.

That's competely irrelevant. Y'all making up nuances now. :heh:

If you're being tackled whilst making the catch you DEFINITELY need to maintain possession throughout
I'm just trying to show the differences in these plays within the rule of possession during a catch and while going to the ground.

Calvin Johnson catch was more of a TD/Catch than this obvious incomplete pass y'all are bytching about. He lost the ball on his way to getting "UP" off the ground not falling to the ground.

As a Cowboys fan, yeah we got the screw job from a dumb rule interpreted against our favour, but I'm not mad because, well, we benefitted from an obscenely bad call against the Lions last week. Things tend to even out in life. It's not the end of the world. We may be an even better team next year. Missing Doug Free and Rolando Mcclain (sp?) was a big blow as well. But that's sports.

your shyt talking is weak and corny. i was very conservative going into this game, check my comments in the season thread. i said the GB game was much more of a challenge than Seattle. we match up better with them. at the end of the day my squad overachieved this year and yall won on a crooked call from the refs. if you think i'm losing sleep over this, you're crazy. but congrats and enjoy the asswhooping next week.

Man I'm not arguing "how much" of a catch it was. It was a catch. Most here agree the Calvin Johnson one was a catch too.

Explain why they ruled (even after a booth review) that Dez catch from Spade's video was a catch when he was "stumbling" forward and lost the ball reaching for the goal line.

The two calls have nothing to do with each other though

If that same play is at the 50 yd line he doesn't extend to get extra yardage, he just makes the catch and secures the ball.

But because the play was close to the end zone he tried to squeeze out that extra lil yard for a score. He didn't have to extend is what I'm saying. Instead of just making the catch for a 1st down, he took a risk and extended for the end zone.

See this is that shyt I can't stand...

Had he not made an effort while falling forward dez would have got all kind of shyt for lack of effort...
