Crazy B. Jordan isn’t getting more burn on the promo circuit for his role.

Writers are brilliant tho ... to some measure, it plays on so many elements of the diaspora experience, conjuring and evoking so many age old buried memories ... the symbolism of Kil being killed is deeper than rap, too.

90% of black folk people rooting against their own interests by rooting for the “protagonist” in this movie .

And that’s what they want.’

Kilmonger had the right idea but he wasn't the right man to lead. He had too many demons and was trained in fukked up american military tactics. Breh had tyrant written all over him and would have eventually turned on his own people because of paranoia.

Because a war would have left 99% dead. Most black people cant shoot a gun let alone handle vibranium weapons.:mjlol:

Forget the military, how long before iron man, vision, hulk, and scarlet witch start killing THOUSANDS in self defense?

Killmonger was a prototypical African dictator/mercenary

I saw it as Wakandans being motherland Africa with the comfortability of having traditional roots. Killmonger is African Americans who were betrayed by Africans who sold us off, which resulted in us not knowing where our roots begin and going hard to make our way in a place that never feels like home.

I thought the movie showed a great dynamic of this. A movie is not our freedom, just another story told that we can find some perspective in. It's a great movie, but don't give it more power than it's supposed to have.

If the film intended to demonise Killmonger it wouldnt have included the flashback sequences with Sterling K Brown (in there to elicit sympathy for Killmonger) or the blatant references to the US military turning Erik into a cold blooded killer.

The film is hyper-critical of the Black experience in America, not Black people in America. Even the racist Ben Shapiro picked up on that crucial distinction.

And it's not like the Wakandans came out of that movie looking perfect. T'Chaka came off looking like a real piece of shyt for abandoning his nephew. His own son rebukes him for it.
Quit filtering nuanced storytelling through knee-jerk biases.

I don't see Killmonger as the average AA experience

Halfican
Top tier degree from MIT
Highly noted in the US Gov't
Strong understanding of African roots

The similarity are the broken nature of African home for him.

The other is the anger of being in a system of white supremacy. Especially ground zero like America

And his low level pro Black roots. He was like Khalid Muhammad but not close to Khalid knowledge of African roots
