Did Dr. Dre mismanage Rakim?

Initially when Ra left in 03, he said "creative differences." But in recent interviews http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/...differences-working-with-dr-dre-on-oh-my-god-, dude was talking about how Dre wanted him to talk about killing people whereas he wanted to rhyme about resurrecting others.
Rakim imo has to be one of the biggest letdowns in hip hop...

Let's start in 1987 . .
. . 'Paid in Full', classic . . monumental
1988 - 'Follow the Leader', classic
1990 - 'Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em" classic. . great
1992 - 'Don't Sweat the Technique . . solid
1997 - The 18th Letter . . solid album . . 4.5 out 5 . . 5 out of 5, it's pretty damn great
1999 - The Master . . another solid album
The Seventh Seal . . a bitter disappointment . . but I bet if I went back to listen to it now I would be pleased

His musical output leaves alot to be desired....
Im not saying he should have been Jay-z, but after his Eric B stuff,that nikka takes long hiatuses{besides the 18th letter and the Master}...
The 18th letter is still getting play...
I would have to revisit the Master again...
I just feel for the talent he possesses,his musical output{keep up guys..smh} could have been stronger....
Im not dissing the man at any level..
