Jay started it by claiming that Horse had the better verse on oochie wally.
nas took jay's insult and flipped it and made a more memorable/funny line out of it
and 'murdered you on your own shyt' was born!!
:sas1::sas2:

This is true.

I thought Em just came with more emotion, although his verses were tough. Jay was his usual self, but lyrically it was on point. The way he was painting pictures with "I had to hustle, back to the wall, ashy knuckles/Pockets filled with a lot of lint, not a cent" - a lot of us can relate that. Matter fact, most of what Jay was saying, folks from the hood can relate to. Em was just going straight at this critics. I say it was an equal showing from great emcees.

I'm not a fan of whiteboy and he's definitely, without question the most overrated MC ever, but when I hear this...

"Since I'm in the position to talk to these kids and they listen..." :wow:

Jay came with some run of the mill Jay sh!t. He got murdered.

Also, when he said, "You fukking do-gooders - too bad you couldn't DO-GOOD at marriage!"

This line got me, it captured the phoniness of American culture, right wing conservatives, white culture, those judgmental black religious folks, etc....

Yea, Em really flexed his lyrical muscle on that track something serious. And everyone I was around at that time said that he got Jay a lot on that track. Before Ether.
