That's only because fans hold different fighters to different standards..
They call Canelo a duck for not fighting Andrade and becoming undisputed at 160 when he needed one belt but then Turn a blind eye when Floyd only needed 1 belt after Pacquiao and opted to face Berto instead of Kell Brook.. But that's not considered a duck to them :heh:
floyd was a 38 year old man with nothing to prove at that point.
if he beat kell brook and became undisputed and retired, you would just say he's "ducking the new wave of 147 pounders (thurman spence crawford) and that he never defended his titles.

u pretty much have a built in excuse to hate on him regardless of any decision he makes lol
he learned that shortly after the mosley fight and stopped givin you clowns attention:yeshrug:

:heh: you did nothing here but make excuses for him ducking. It's funny how nikkas made the EXACT SAME excuses when Floyd retired after De La Hoya.. I wish I could pull up the old SOHH boxing forum

I don’t know if he ducked Manny but boxing dropped the ball by not making that fight after each of them fukked up Ricky Hatton. They were both at the top of their game right there. Manny was never the same fighter after Marquez turned him into a coli smiley :deadmanny:

Should have been done after Manny beat Cotto. Why does Manny never catch flack for refusing Random Drug Testing?

You can make an argument that Floyd was on the dip from his prime in his Money May days mainly due to his fragile hands causing him to be more defensive.

Shane vs Floyd at 135 would've been way better than the fight we got where Shane was already shot

Shane had a career best performance against Margorito just before

I'm not sure if he was "ducking" prime Manny but the fact that it took 6 years to finally happen, obviously Manny wasn't as good by that point, I don't see it as a business decision, the fight should have happened a lot sooner. If someone wants to say it was a duck they can make a strong argument.

The only one I would even argue would be Paul Williams. The style could’ve definitely caused him problems. None of these other guys made sense. Most of these fights didn’t make financial sense. Hell I thought he was ducking Vivian Harris and that fight could’ve happened next if Harris didn’t get KOed by Mausa. Emmanuel Steward had Vivian looking good but he was too emotional.

Floyd could fought Spadafora, but again Floyd wasnt in the business of just fighting anyone or fighting for belts. He was so partial to the WBC also. He didn’t even want that IBF 147 belt. That belt was only used to promote fight with him and Zab. ZAB should not even have had that belt but IBF pulled some fukk shyt. After 135, Floyd really only fought the best risk vs reward fights.

There was no point in fighting Cheat-irito when he got paid the same amount for Baldomir.

I know for sure he ducked Winky Wright

Nah. Nobody wanted to see that. Floyd’s team didn’t want to fight anyone who seemingly wouldn’t make him look good or the public thought wouldn’t be an exciting fight. Remember there were a lot of talks of Floyd against Cory Spinks and they shot that down. I thought Floyd would go for that too but I remember Floyd saying no one wanted to see that either. Spinks had all the belts too.

If it made cents, it made sense....floyd would fight anybody put infront of him and make easy work out of them. One of the reasons people bought his PPV's and he became the biggest boxing star because people wanted to see him lose.
