Something also worth bringing up is that the SEC was way better defensively back then. Maybe cause offenses were worse on avg in 2010, but there were only three defenses you could consider good in the SEC last season and LSU had one of them
That’s not true, There was a total of 7 SEC players on defense drafted in the first 3 round the year Cam came out, 3 in the 1st round. The SEC will shatter that mark this year prolly have more than 7 in the 1st round alone

Alabama probably has 15+ future nfl defenders on their team rn. Just had their worst defense of Saban’s tenure. As far as team defense, on the college level (which is what matters), SEC was not good last year. Wildly top heavy IMO. Just the fact I can sit here and think the B10 was probably better top down on that side shows that it ain’t like it was back then

The answer is yes, but it wasn't the most memorable.

Baker Mayfield in 17, Cam in 10, Kyler Murray 18,Vince Young in 05, Tebow 08. Those all seemed to be more memorable in terms of highlights
I don’t necessarily agree with your premise but the one theme in this post: all these guys were way better runners

that running element is probably what creates the added memorability

Teams in the from the SEC top to bottom recruit way better than they did the, and teams back then were running Les Mike style offenses, not these exotic spread offenses.

I have Kyler's season slightly above Bakers, I really have to rewatch Cam's season because so many people bought that season up. Vince Young season was great, but more memorable than Burrow's?

I'm suprised Lamar didn't seem to have a college season like any of those named; and this guy is like "All Madden" level with the speed.

He’s a OU fans that’s why he says that, you really don’t know how memorable Burrow season is till like 5 years from now, it just happened.

I’ll give you that offenses are better, but offenses are better in the B10 too:yeshrug:
And the recruiting thing still goes back to my OG point, having individual talent and having good defenses isn’t the same thing.

let me put it one way, LSU had fantastic individual offensive talent for 90% of last decade. Did they have fantastic offenses over that stretch?

Lamar in 2016-17 was more impressive to me than Baker and Kylers, he just played with such a middling team and only had 2 marquee matchups bc of how irrelevant the ACC was/is

If that Georgia team played GOAT tier talent Alabama, cam newton (twice) and in arguably the peak SEC, they would’ve had more than 4 losses.
How was that peak SEC when LSU beat the following on the way to the title last season:

#7 Florida
#9 Auburn
@ #2 Alabama
@ #4 Georgia

:stopitslime: Don't make me neg you breh

And thats not even including:

@ #9 Texas
#4 Oklahoma
#3 Defending Champion Clemson
