Even the amount of threads ain't all that anymore. Lil B and Wiz Khalifa are damn near forgotten in the new era of talented rappers. Party rap ain't the super dominant force it once used to be. We didn't even have a summer lockdown in Hip Hop, in terms of club joints, this year.

Yea we did. Drill took over this year. Swag rap was from like 2008-2012. It's dying, but Lil B is a creative so he'll just create another style, dude isn't really confined and has a following. He's not looking for album sales, this aint the 00s, the era of the internet blocks 95% of rappers from doing huge numbers. Some artists, esp creatives, are content with the underground. Lil B will just shape up to be like a tech9nine.

What song had Summer 2013 on smash?

2010 had "MC Hammer"

2011 had "We on One"

2012 even had 2 Chainz "Birthday song"

What did Summer 2013 had as an official smash track?

I agree there weren't many summer jams like that this year,

but if you think party rap is dead, you're wrong wrong wrong.

It ain't dead yet, but the once tight grasp is gradually slipping away. Kinda like how Lil Jon came out in 2003 and gradually shifted the attention from NY to the south. Then in 2005, the likes of Jeezy, Boosie, and the Texas movement all but killed NY dominance. Same thing happening now. In the next 8-10 months, shyt will shift and move the 808s into something else.

It wasn't bad and Lil B wasn't bad and could spit when he wanted to (see Joe budden diss), but that nikka just seemed like everything he did was to get attention. I understand wanting to be different and set aside from everybody else, but that nikka just took it too far in his grandma's earrings LOL. He had some crazy production though. Someone should do a Lil B appreciation thread because he was something to watch for a good year and a half. Some of my favorite tracks

Same B-Day as me

In the Silver Lining
It's actually a real good album, people that talked shyt about it, never actually sat down and listened to it. He actually dropped the swag rap for that album and went serious mode. The production was :ohlawd:

production was fresh ........ lyrical skills slightly above mediocre ......... the album title circus act unfresh ...

He's in the Bay Area I'm surprised he ain't signed to Google or Apple ...
