Never was a Rondo fan, but Rick Carlisle isn't handling this situation well either.

Couldn't integrate him...at all...with half a season, and has let this be a huge distraction in the locker room.

As a sidenote, with all the metrics that the Mavericks use, how did they think bringing Rondo in would be a good idea? It really blew up in their face like an experiment gone wrong.

On paper, Rondo + Dirk, Parsons, and Ellis is a sexy lineup. Rondo could succeed with those guys but Carlisle's stubborn as hell and wouldn't tailor the system to Rondo's strengths. Hell, he wouldn't even trust him to call the plays. I believe this failure lies at Carlisle's feet. At least Doc Rivers was able to let Rondo do his thing.

And keep in mind, Rondo's arrival triggered improvement for the Mavs in every notable defensive category.

Well I don't know what was said behind the scenes, but I was bytching the whole second half for keeping Rondo on the bench. Especially with no Devin Harris. Barea and Ellis leaves you with no defense in your backcourt. I felt Carlisle was trying to prove a point at the expense of his team. Rondo didn't look like he quit, he was getting into it with Harden getting into his head a lil bit.. Showing a lil fire was what the Mavs need. It's obvious he'll be gone next year so might as get your money worth in these playoffs cause Barea and Felton aren't gonna get it done

Mavs offense was one of the best in the league before Rondo. Why would they change it for him?

I know its fun to just hate Rondo, but look at his playoff track record. He lives for the big stage and has always had his best performances when the proverbial lights are on. To play like that, for all of 10 minutes, shows you how far gone he is in Dallas. Forget the big three, he was killing the Heat in 2012. That overtime game, I think it was like Game 2 where he scored all 12 of Boston's points in overtime, had a line of like 44/10/8 and played every second of a 53-minute game. It's crazy to watch that game last night and think its the same player.

that was the game that put rondo in that top pg category. all that he cant shoot went out window. we all know he isnt a 3 point shooter. but that top of the key jumper was money. rondo is not a catch and shoot player. thats what they basically made jason kidd.

missed shot. rondo gets rebound. doc rivers- go rondo. do your thang. FREEDOM.

missed shot- rondo gets rebound. rick carlisle- rondo stop slow down. let me call a play. PRISONER

Carlisle is ruining this dude, if I was Rondo I wouldn't play either. Did you guys hear Shaq and Kenny talking about it?

8 second call Chuck was talking shyt about... yet you see Rondo and 6 of them seconds hes looking at Carlisle for a damn play call??? Let the man call some of his own plays, hes your PG... Carlisle needs to put on shorts and get out there. How you going to call 100% of the offensive calls to your PG?

When they get bounced (soon) Carlisle will be in hot water how he treated Rondo and all of the play calling, Rondo will be somewhere else and gets more freedom and play fine. You cant expect your creative PG to be productive if you need to call every single offensive play. Even Kenny was saying he called 75% of the plays on the court...

I cant even think of a good fit for Rondo anymore ... like go look at a list of teams, and there doesnt seem to be 1 good fit in the entire league

That's what I was thinking last night. And teams see him doing this shyt in a playoff game how the fukk can you sign him to a contract? I think Rondo got a ring and he's gotten paid to an extent. I wouldn't be surprised if he said fukk it and rode off into the sunset and not play for anybody next season.

Rondo and Perkins were 2 of the most overrrated players in the league last 7 seasons. The "impact" they had on the 08-10 Celtics was way overblown by the media. Such disrespect to 3 of the true GOAT's of the era trying to gas these nikkas up like they was the reason the C's were so good. Flabby Gary Payton would've beasted with that 08 squad at the point. KG,Piru and Jesus playing 3 on 5 on offense and still killing it. :wow: Leon Powe and PJ Brown brought more to the table than that angry ass nikka Perk. :russ: C's dumped that chump off on OKC to sabotage they shot at a title.
