Every available metric that has shown team offenses shows that the Celtics were a subpar offense but an elite defense. As the Big 3 got older, they're ability to produce offense when needed suffered and they started.
The Celtics were a gritty team like the Grizzlies that had a "meh offense" but an "offensive weapon" that could score in those 4th quarters.
Show me some stat or proof that agrees with the "Celtics" having a good offense when it was Rondo led. Why is it that good offenses get worse when Rondo is involved like in Dallas. Why did the Celtics get w much better offense when 5'9 Thomas got involved and made for better spacing for everyone else?
Rondo made that championship offense in 2008 as much as Chalmers made it for the Heat. His job was to defend and pass but his horrible offensive game is the fukkin reason Boston couldn't repeat.

Ellis and Dirk are there main offensive threat and Ellis was the one handling the bulk of the offensive duties because Dirk is old but still has an elite off ball effect.
The Mavs focused on primarily ball movement and the fact that they had a ton of scoring versatility among their wings and Dirk. Rondo has no scoring versatility
