Nah, I don't think it was a terrible cause. Tbh Sal was a terrible businessman.

Any businessman with some sense would've just put some African Americans on the wall to make the customers feel welcome. That's why Walmart, McDonalds, and other big companies put images of African Americans in their store and ads, and they're not even as reliant on African American business like Sal.

They put paintings or hang shyt,I go to mexican restaurants and I might see paintings or pictures or or shyt hanging from them,but it's like,as an owner you opening your own little restaurant,you bout to decorate it to fit your image of what you dreamed your restaurant would look like,not based on your clientele

The premise of an Italian restaurant (or any for that matter) is that you're eating Italian food surrounded by Italian decor to give the illusion/feel of being in Italy without having to actually go there.

I dont think he was OBLIGATED, but if their was more conscious cats in the 1st place like Buggin Out, they could have spoken up about it and suggested it sooner and make him realize who's supporting his business the most.

Sal did outrite refuse tho when Buggin Out brought it up, which more than likely was that "****** hating" part of him speaking.

The issue wasn't that Buggin Out suggested to Sal that photos of black figures be placed on the wall, he flat out DEMANDED it, and Sal clearly shown that he wasn't the type to take demands from others.

One of my favorite movies of all time but really, if the locals had taken issue with Sals representation of Blacks in the establishment, they should either start your own place or stop spending money there. Don't order his slices, don't order his pizza's. I mean Buggin Out tried to but it never caught on.

But Sal also exposed the contempt he has for the people who patronize his establishment, when he busted up Radio Raheems radio.

Let's be honest, if he puts up a Martin Luther King picture, he keeps his pizzeria and Radio Raheem is still alive.
