People complain about the dumbest shyt I swear

I didn't get the impression that Sal was racist. He was a damn racist, are yall forgetting this
When he started the business it was probaly a place mostly frequented by italians, then black folks moved into the neighborhood and he was forced to serve us.....people of other races move business into our neoghborhoods by design and still hate us,but will take our money.
So how u think somebody who never planned on us being his primary customers felt?this movie is still wack to me...a buncha nikkas gettin all mad because a radio got smashed, when Sal just called them ******s a few seconds earlier and aint shyt pop off
...but noooooo you cant smash his boombox, fukk outta here Spike

Obligated?
No of course not. Nor should he have caved to the whims of a screaming hotep.
HOWEVER, he lives in NYC in a black neighborhood. Meaning that vital figures of that neighborhood were probably black. That's who shoulda been on those walls.
And a picture of MLK up on the wall never offended nobody...period.

Maybe he didn't want to.Not obligated, but I can't imagine how putting up a photo of a black hero would have been a big deal to Sal.
I would have done it if I were him.
When you're in someone else's neighborhood, even if it's "your" shyt, you pay respect/homage to that neighborhood. But it's up to the people to check them on it (like they did in the movie). Too many other groups of people put their shyt up in Black neighborhoods, bleed the money from the communities, don't give shyt back, treat our people like criminals, wouldn't hire one of us if their life depended on it, and then disrespect the shyt out of us. But it's not even something you can blame on them, we should've been starving them out like they'd do us.I had a class where we had to watch this movie and do a report on it.
Nay. I don't think he was obligated too, it was his store and he put people up who were inspirational to him.
I understand that.Maybe he didn't want to.

So nikkas shouldve just been hapoy with a symbol or "gesture" from this racist....they asked and got they answer when he was so against it.
nikkas get they answer everyday with how we are treated, and still keep supporting these racist establishments![]()

I didn't get the impression that Sal was racist.
Vito was racist.
But you're just bytching about Spike & the movie for some other shyt that you're perceiving.
The question is whether Sal should have put up a photo of a black celebrity. Just in case you forgot.

...then had the nerve to throw a trash can at Sals place at the end
.
