Y'all nikkas divided as hell on this one lol.

Gang Bang Anyway is a ridiculously good track.

I bought the CD, Magnus Carlsen with the original Stevie Wonder Rocket Love sample is good, glad I got the iTunes version it before they did it over.

Interesting, I have to double check if I have that version of the track because I didn't know about that. I have the double disc version that came out with both 2 and 2.5 as disc in one case.

I feel part of that is because he names drop too much and emulates his featured artist too much. Other than that no denying his talent.

I agree, he did good for a sequel but was it a classic like he was saying?

Also I posted that joint in the OP. Easily one of the dopest on that record imo. I loved the way they sampled on and on.

Pretty much this.

I hadn't checked for a Game album prior to this in some time as I'd grown weary of the above. I thought it was fire though. He's always an ear for beats.

it's more of a modern day classic :yeshrug:it was on constant replay for me when it dropped. Majority of the songs still hold up til this day too

I honestly don't remember the hype but I do know they were both solid albums, well produced and well put together. Game did his thing.

A lot of highlights. He had enough material to make a one disc classic instead he fed us with two dope albums.

If you never played it again then how did it live up to the hype? :russ:

I mean dude had so much hype for this on IG and social media. Even had people like DIddy and Dr.Dre playing it and saying he made a dope record. Yet none of it really stuck with us smh.

You had to be peeping his Ig and social media. It was also on the blogs a lot.

Here are some things I found

He built a lot of hype and put a lot of money behind thisone.

It's like this...

I enjoyed the albums but it lacked replay. I get what Game was trying to do but meh... Plus Doc 2>>>>2.5
I personally feel similar to you. It was good but something about it made it not worthy of replay. I even played Dj Quik's midnight life album a lot more.

Maybe it used too many familiar samples :jbhmm: or he tried to hard to make a classic instead of just making a great body of work.

In order for an album to be classic it has to define the time period. This wasn't that....especially when you had Future dominating at the time with DS2 and 56 Nights. 5, 10, 15 years from now we'll look at those Future projects and say they defined that time period in Rap music. That said, this was a very good album that a niche group of a fans would love and enjoy. It was certainly my favorite album of that time but it didn't connect with anything other than a few people, it didn't set a trend, it didn't change the game.....It was just a very good album.

:salute:

I love how Jay Rock, Q and Game gave their own individual experiences about gangbanging with angles they each approached it from. They all have different levels of intelligence about it too, adding more the realism that not all gangbangers think alike at all.
