I say it's a dikk move by the teacher. If you know the material you should be graded accordingly. Take a few pts off or take pts off the participation grade or something but minus 50pts is far fetched.

My thing is, if that is the case. I added in the email that it was even outlandish as a story but I had documentation of the proof of it. Plane tickets, dinner receipts, receipt of me picking up the physical portfolio from fedex days before, etc.

I don't see why he didn't ask for proof.if I was a professor, the first thing I'd do is verify the date of birth, then ask for verification that his strong is true and he wasn't skipping to party or finish the assignment.

Maybe you should bring it up to the dean.

Also, let's say he allowed you to turn the hard copy in later, other students could get word of that and turn him in to the dean, complaining of favoritism which could get him in trouble. Students are super entitled these days and loooove telling on professors. Job security brehs.

Okay. Just making sure. I'm 24. I get it, but half the project off is a bit harsh. I don't want to be entitled and maybe that's exactly what it is. But I busted my ass in the class.

Not sure why he couldn't have just peeped the project before class via email to verify it was done then just have me bring it in.

I don't see any difference between the two. Rules are rules, but seeing as to how I had the highest grade in my class. and a strong track record, I'd be penalized harshly.

For me the only reason to take off points is because a student is using the extra time to do a project they never did.

You knew the deal and did what you did, accept the repercussions and don't cry about it not being fair. You didn't comply with the rules. And professors do shyt like that as another test to you. And you failed. You're actually lucky you got 50%
