The entire history of video gaming

TRS-80, a Bit of Computer Nostalgia – grouchyfarmer

Yeah, I had one of these growing up, an Atari 2600 and an NES. Then when I was like 15-16 we got a legit PC and I played my first 3D world games. When I got out of college I started building my own PC's and discovered what PC gaming is.

not fully, I still play modern games but mostly stick to indies or a few really well-reviewed single player games.

I try to jump into multiplayer games once in a while , but lose interest one week in.

It was over for me once Call of Duty Modern Doorfare came out in 2019.

Campers. Goofy skins. Engagement Optimized Match Making.

Dude I’m not about this goofy shyt.

You pay $70 for a game that isn’t even finished. You’re basically playing a beta upon release. And 8 months later is when things get patched up. By then you don’t even care.

Gaming peaked in the PS2 era.
And frankly I miss the old Nintendo/Sega Genesis days.

I never got into the online multiplayer wave which seems to be the focus of games now…that and nickel and diming with transactions…I’m a big wrestling fan and downloaded WWE 2k25, boot the bytch up and damn near every character is locked behind some kinda bullshyt paywall :why: …the fukk

It’s partially that and the free leisure time I have gets ate up a lot by staring into my phone for random shyt…. That’s probably the biggest culprit, I’ll start a game say I’ll play it for an hour or two and spend most out it scrolling on my phone with the game on pause

Yeah I’m not that impressed with games these days. The ones that are “good” try too hard to be movies now cutscene after cutscene like damn wrap it up I’m playing E33 and that’s GOTY and I’m sitting there playing it like :beli: when something like RE4 had me like :krs: first twenty minutes. I blame TLOU for this not every game needs a long backstory or even a compelling story just give me quality gameplay you know the thing we pay $70 to do.

Can’t do it like I use to. I occasionally maybe once a year really get into an in depth game. But otherwise it has to be something I can easily pick up and get into and put down. That means no long cutscenes and dialog and straight action most of the time

I bought a PS5 for Black Friday and bought the gears of war reloaded game. I love it cause it’s simple.:flabbynsick:

The other games I bought I don’t play like that. Resident evil feels like a damn job.
