I've stopped playing games about 15 years ago, but I love watching gameplay of shyt like this on YouTube. The characters and movements look so interesting, but I don't have the time or desire to invest in actually letting you play that shyt

A big theme I am seeing with people in this thread is that the complaints are all from high profile/mainstream games and just being an extreme casual. If it is not GTA/COD/BF/2K then a game does not exist to a lot of people. There are way more games out there than the few that get presented to you.

Just say that you don't play games like that and not cap about the reason you do not. Most of the time when I hear this in real life it usually results in the person admitting they never really played video games like that at all.

If you want games out there that have little to no story and just action then there are a shyt load of games out now that fit that bill. Even if you play games that have a deep story or cutscenes, just skip them if it is too much.

Same goes for music/movies/books basically any form of art entertainment none of these things ever fell off forreal, people are just casual fans and don't want to admit it because that puts the accountability back on them.

One of my neighbors is a real gamer, every time im over there he's starting some new game I've never heard of, had minimal marketing, but still dope

But he takes the time to actually look up the studios that make games he likes, not just scrolling some "most popular games" list.

What happens if the types of games he likes aren't popular to the masses??? The type of shyt you like personally isn't always gonna have representation on the mainstream

the people who put 0 effort into looking up what they like constantly complain about what mainstream decides to market at the moment instead of using the Internet as it was intended, as a huge information library with anything you want to find.

nikkas still come in here and ask questions instead of using a search engine dont follow any blogs or websites on the topic, just lazy social media grazing for information most of the time, but expect to be hip on things

Hogwarts was made for gamers that like Harry Potter breh its not really a starter game. I recommend one of the open world Lego games to ease your old ass into real gaming while still being light, like Lego City Undercover, Batman or Star Wars.

my backlog is insane, I can basically just eat off of old unplayed classics and whatnot for the rest of the generation. you don't wanna end up like that. just play one or two games at a time and push through them when they start to drag. I just went back to Horizon Zero Dawn, that shyt is beautiful. Those are the type of games that get me back gaming, showcase type games.

I went from Madden, Need 4 Speed, 2K, Fight Night/Knockout Kings....to being more of an action & RPG kind of guy.

GTA Vice City, Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast and Elder Scrolls Oblivion got me on that track slowly over time.

I pick one big azz game and put in a good 200 to 300 hours (sometimes more) and pretty much only play that until I'm done with it. I never do NG+....finish the game and then grab the next game sitting on my shelf. Usually buy 4 to 6 new games per year, sometimes more....but typically only play 1, maybe 2 per year.

Elden Ring, Starfield, Horizon FW and AC Shadows kept me occupied for a good 3.5 years.

Been wanting to do Red Dead 2, Cyberpunk, Plague's Tale, Baldur's Gate, actually progress through Sekiro, Ghost of Yotei, go back and play AC Odyssey since I never played it, Death Stranding....got a backlog of games.

It's a good hobby in between working out, reading, volunteering etc.

I have played hella games just never finished them

Tides of Annihilation looks great. Only thing I’m really forward to. Got no idea about anything else really.

Quit fighting games to do more research/financial modeling on stocks. Had to get time from somewhere because I’m busy and like to manage time. I don’t even play competitive games with other people online because it’s a time sink. Give me the one great single player game and I’m good.

My girl don’t really mind me playing games or watching NBA games in my free time because she knows the old me would be out drinking and prowling the skreets for heauxs.
