Did we declare K.Dots TPAB a "Pro Black" album or was it assigned for us?

K.Dot is being used for "I want to sit at the table" protest while Cube was creating songs regarding "Revolting" and Self Sufficiency.

K.Dot is not pushing any envelops. He is making Good Music but his music is being used like how people use MLK incorrectly to promote an "easy to digest" narrative.

You think X Clan would be invited to perform at the Grammys or whatever?
:mjlol:

It's like Kanye, They created the narrative back in the day that "Kanye is Crazy", so when Kanye spoke real ish people could write it off like "lolol kanye is so crazy and funny :mjlol:"

And you don't know what you're talking about in regards to music :russ:

I say this because it's baffling that people think TPAB is some cryptic work when it couldn't be more straightforward majority of the time.

boy what in the hell are you talking about?
:what:

The entire thread is about TPAB being elementary and basic AND NOT some Revolutionary Album White outlets are trying to make it out to be.

:why:

This peon has been going on and on about a thread he never even understood from inception yet thinks he knows something others dont.

People need to stop diluting the term "pro-black". You're making it lose its meaning if you just slap pro-black onto anything.

Pro-black music fighting against white supremacy.

That means it's going to be offensive, challenging, and controversial. Nothing about TPAB is controversial. Cac America is not shook. :mjlol: It's just an album that capitalized on the media's obsessive spotlight on police brutality at that particular point in time.

If you compared the pro-blackness of the 80's/90's (X-Clan, Tupac, BDP, Ice Cube, Jeru, PE, etc) to what's "pro-black" now, the differences are embarrassing.

Rappers were saying "fukk these crackers", "fukk these devils", in every other song. No pseudo-intellectual postering... Adding Farrakhan and NOI speeches...

Here's some actual modern pro-black songs.

accurate depiction of a young black man in America in the 2010's

The average black man is in a gang? :comeon:

My exact sentiment. If TPAB is Pro Black than is a Suburban Black Rapper rapping about starbucks and summers in the Hamptons making a pro black record to? Or is he not Pro Black? The things he does is something blacks in America do.

bout as black as you gonna get in this day and age on the mainstream level... I applaud him for trying, and I'm glad someone is trying at his level. It comes off forced at times. But I just can't fukk with it.

salute to Cole.

Even though Jay Elec is a bum, this is why Jay criticizes Kendrick and clowns him, quit talking in circles, if you want to create a revolution then speak it plain. You cant talk about Cops killing blacks and in the same bar say what about black on black crime when they are too unrelated issues. It comes off as Smart Dumb N*gga talk. Blackest thing about TPAB is the production if we really want to keep it funky.

No doubt. We know better... but I don't wanna down the African. He's trying. He seems to take his craft seriously. But you're right, it's not pro black. trying to think of a better term... black-centric maybe? I dunno.

Being Black isn't a Monolithic thing. I say his album is just a Soulful Album about life through his eyes or the character he created for the album, nothing more nothing less. Blacks in America come from all walks of life and backgrounds and we all have different stories but sonically Soulful music is something that gives us all the same feeling.

:wow:

I just said the exact same thing in another thread.

The blackest thing you can do is love your self and people who look like you. When you use environment to correlate with Blackness you create more division and self hate. You get the "you not black" because you act/talk/dress/etc like this non sense.
