I never said NWA on the whole was pro-black. They had some pro-black influences that were Black Panther- like in such songs like "F The Police".
Well yes, he took it steps further by getting away from the mindless aspects that were in NWA.
"pro black elements" is all that's needed though to send/spread the message
see above
F The Police what created from the mentality of just a cat in the hood who is tired of the Cops messing with him. That situation is the awareness, while becoming a panther is the PRO BLACKNESS as it is the steps being taken to protect ones self. F The Police just brings awareness to what cops do to people.
Awareness is fine but if you give it to the unlearned/unaware they will just look at you like "now what". That is when "Pro Black" comes in which says "Hey I know you have this issue, well this is who/what is causing it, and this is how you fix it."
F The Police is the equivalent of making a song about being Sad for people being lynched. It is bringing awareness to an issue but there is nothing Pro Black about acknowledging you are being oppressed UNLESS in the same instance you are presenting what you will do to end your oppression.
TPAB speaks nothing about how to end ones struggles, it only acknowledges the said struggles.
