Did y'all see Sherman throwing Russell Wilson under the bus to boost himself up?

:dead:SO ONE BAD SEASON IN
DENVER BEFORE RETURNING TO
13-13 WITH 42 TDS - 13 INTS
IS PLAYING HIMSELF OUT OF THE HOF?

Did you actually read my comment and what I said to @Piff Perkins before you rushed to respond?

Again what I said is that his performances after Seattle doesn't diminish all that he did there previously, but it does hurt him if you thought he was already on the HOF bubble before in that they might do nothing to push him over the hump.

If those numbers were as impressive as you're claiming them to be, then Denver and Pittsburgh wouldn't have tossed him to the bushes and he wouldn't be benched now.

Isn't that on Russ though for continuing to pick shytty situations? Some of y'all keep trying to give Russ the benefit of a doubt for the situations he continues to put himself in.

It essentially comes down to this:

Do you think Russ did enough in Seattle to warrant the HOF? Yes or no?

If no, do you think what he's accomplished since is enough to help get him over the hump?

nikka Russ sucked from the gate in Denver. He started with a coach who had no back bone and let him wild out and tried to run the team but he didn’t have the leadership qualities or the skill set to do so.

He would take woat level sacks and couldn’t run like he used to to and his ability to read the defense and call out pass rushers was suspected

The biggest thing is Sean is a qb friendly coach and would have the plays pretty much drawn out for Russ and he would do dumb shyt. Which is the reason Sean went crazy on him.

You're totally correct it doesn't, but it does hurt him depending on if he was viewed as a borderline candidate or not before he left Seattle.

What’s hurt Russ more than anything is that people kept giving him the benefit of a doubt and placing blame on Seattle and Denver for not letting him “cook,” when it should have been obvious that he was washed and not what he used to be.
I don’t think you’re wrong. What could have just been a typical case of an aging QB falling off has become something more with Russ. There’s too much smoke not to be fire. Some might say reports about Giants teammates embracing Dart this week are just typical team stuff but…I can’t help but think back to the reports about teammates wanting Fields to remain the starter in Pitt. It legit seems like teammates do not fukk with Russ after a few weeks.

I’m not arguing he’s HOF bound. I just don’t think the last 4 years will prevent him from getting in. The holes on his resume will be why he doesn’t get in. I agree his public perception has been destroyed btw, no doubt. But that could change in a couple years if he’s in a broadcasting booth and is good. Think about how we perceived Romo at the end of his career VS the first couple years at CBS. He’s trash now but he had people legit impressed initially.

Which the post Seattle run was supposed to help fill and showing that they made a mistake replacing him with Geno. He was supposed to be missing piece of Denver while cementing his HOF case and it went horribly.

I agree though that going the broadcasting booth and media route would help change that perception, but that would require him showing personality, which we’ve nerved seen before.

Sean Payton wasn't the coach his first year there. Even then, it was clear from the jump that Russ wasn't Russ anymore when people were complaining about letting him cook.

I know that because I was sounding the alarm the first few weeks of that season and people were pushing back.

My point is that Russ has done nothing since Seattle to strengthen his HOF case if you already thought he was on the bubble after his Seattle career.

Man the coach his first year was absolute trash. Then after he had to deal with Sean Payton hating

Sherman is one of the 5 best CBs of the past 15 yrs, can't say the same for baby hair
But there’s like 100 “elite” backfield guys in the last 15 years only a handful of QBs. While Russ is in the lowest tier of those elites, he’s still up there.

Having one good cb does very little for a team. Having a good qb can change a team’s perspectives. Even if many others on the team are mediocre. Look at bengals with or without burrow.

Yes Seahawks had a legendary backfield but but Russ and beast were putting a lot of numbers on those boards. It wasn’t really like Von millers Denver
