That's nothing

My 17 yr old sis wanted a iPhone , she's got the 4. She got a $250 gift card along with another $100+ worth of gifts.

At first it was kinda like "aw man... I didn't get a new iPhone"... Few mins later it was "man alls I wanted was the new iPhone! :sadcam:"

Then it got to "I DON'T WANT NONE OF THIS BULLshyt, ALLS I WANT IS A NEW IPHONE!!!!!" She throws a lamp, screams and cries... Makes my mom feel
Horrible... She goes crazy and finally goes in her room crying an proceeds to call and cry to my dad

Keep in mind my mom is a single mom... Smh shyt was crazy

Are you one of the hood people who never traveled internationally? Why is your perspective so narrow?

These teen girls have been GIVEN entirely too much already. Forget an iPhone 5!

Plenty of ppl don't even celebrate Xmas, AB. Tons of people get their kids major gifts at other times of year. Many teens must earn their own fancy phones. My dad once bought me a superb tennis racquet on a random Tuesday simply because he wanted me to have it when I played in tournaments. Parents were getting kids gifta long before xmas was conceptualized.

My point is this. Any particular holiday is only as meaningful as each family decides it should be.

No. On Christmas, the important thing is that someone thought of you. On any day, for that matter! A mere greeting card will take your breath away when somebody is wishing you the strength you need or expressing the thanks you deserve.

These spoiled 17-year-old girls will soon ship off to college and maybe perhaps feel the delight of a well-timed care package during finals/flu season/vday/midterms when they finally appreciate the significance of SOMEONE THINKING OF THEM.

Where are the dads to tell these lamp-throwing hussies "you don't talk to MY WIFE like that?" Big brothers should not have to play that role. ( ._.)

--> aq out <--

you must not have a child.
Holler back when you get one.

How dare anyone ruin a child's Xmas with lack of wherewithal.
Not to listen to that child and get exactly what they want.
You are a complete a$$hole for that.

No u have the wrong mentality. You should be givig gfts because you want to see the person happy and enrich their life. If you cant get someone what tey want just dont get anything.

:what:

You know what? I was about to argue with this until I realized the part at the end was an excellent suggestion.

OP, your sister didn't appreciate the effort? Fine. Seeing as how she lacks the common courtesy to at least say she appreciated the effort, then don't EVER buy her anything ever again.....since there's apparently something wrong with YOU (:rudy:), that causes you not to be able to get the right gift for people. Mind you, I'm not saying to hate her from now on or be on bad terms with her.....just don't get her any gifts anymore.

Simple solution to that problem that YOU apparently have: don't waste your time and energy. Don't give her cash, because that might be wrong; she might have wanted jewelry that time, or find cash to be too "impersonal". Don't get a gift card, since she might have wanted an expensive purse that time, or she might think it's a bad idea for a gift. Hell, don't even get a gift that she specifically asks for, since you're so retarded when it comes to buying gifts that you might still get it in the wrong fukking COLOR :merchant:, God forbid. DON'T GET ANYTHING.....until she learns to act like a fukking human being that's able to express gratitude for the fact that someone cared enough to get her anything at all

Nothing wrong with not liking a gift. Nothing even wrong with politely letting someone know you would have preferred something else. But for her to display that kind of attitude to people - family members - who actually at least TRIED to get something they thought she would like....:snoop:

Get the ENTIRE fukk outta here, tryna defend that foolishness on Christmas Day.

I grew up with a double life.
Also,...
My parents did not pay attention to me or nuffin I did or do.
You had to make a fukk'n proposal to get a damn thing from them.
My best friend's auntie not even my real auntie had to listen to me to get exactly what I wanted so I did not feel left out.
When all the other kids playing with grandiose toys, getting all the videogames and all that shyt.

I had to take Xmas money and go hustle to get what I wanted with the stereotypical two parent home.
Which was complete narcissistic horse shyt on their part.
I learned you get your child exactly what they want, period.
Nuffin in this world is better than seeing exact joy on your child's face.
When you ultimately fulfill what they asked of you as a parent.
You are a parent and that is your only duty on this earth.
as a human being is to serve your children.

You got motherfukkers, that will go out get beemers, suits, dress shoes and not comeback with not one pair of anything in consideration for their child.
You got selfish wack bytches with their hair done up, bags and mac makeup off eic.
With not one damn gift bought from listening to a child.
fukk all that half ass parenting shyt

You get your kid what they fukking ask of you.
What kids ask for is not much.
Especially if you got a corporate job and make over 24k.
All that other shyt people talking is bullshyt.
You get your child what they ask for, period.
Plus you better be gracious enough to inquire.
Plus be even smarter to get into what the child asked for to.

fukk outta here with that orphan age parenting.

That child is to be seen and not heard shyt is back from when children were orphans and slaves.

You better check you history on why Shirley temple and Annie, Oliver twist and Disney and Oliver, again.
You never neglect a child's wishes.
Children do not ask for much.

I can honestly say I've received some WACK christmas gifts from people.....I've had my pops buy me FAKE sneakers, jordans, nike boots, guess jeans....which I quickly sold on eBay. :laff: But honestly it's the thought that counts....No one has to buy you shyt....At the end of the day you should just be appreciative of what someone gives you whether you like it or not. I'm not gonna lie, if I don't like it or have any use for it I will sell it.

Part of gift giving is paying attention to a person.....I know my mother likes pajamas so I bought her a pair of pajamas. I find that most people aren't good gift givers because we don't pay attention to anyone but ourselves and then when Christmas comes along we tend to have to cop out and buy gift cards (which people appreciate) but it's not the same.

17 is still young, she might grow out of this. i have always had the ability to pretend to be satisfied with what i got, but it used to piss me off inside. now i have come to the point where i really dont give a damn about christmas and expect wack gifts and dont hold any resentment toward my family even though i always buy them great stuff...:beli:

but seriously, she's probably just going to grow out of this. let her have a kid, have to work a crappy job, and she will have her spirit whittled down a little by life and she will just be glad to be alive on christmas like the rest of us. try not to take her bahavior too personally.

Is little sister really is not out of line, though.
The parenting is out of wack to not listen.
You have to listen.
then listen and go execute without fail.
Being just good enough creates loser mentality in children.
Children pay attention to the quality of parenting through action.
On Xmas, as a parent you must remember you are that only kids first and real superhero and you never stop being Diana and Clark, period.
When you stop being Clark and Diana..
You destroy you child's will to be as super as they can be little by little bit by bit.

Children are not on this planet for you to get eic.
You are here for your children, period.

The reason why the world is messed up is parenting, first and foremost.

You are not their parent.
Plus, if you present yourself like the Xmas Claus type aunt or uncle.
That means you listen and fill in the gaps where the child's parent can not provide.
All that you gon get it and like it shyt is selfish.
You are grown Xmas is not about you.
It is about fulfilling the exact wishes of a child.
They got a reason why children make Santa's list.
That is old orphanage shyt that at least was dead on.
To listen exactly to a kid,....
The practice of listening to a kid is supposed to be standard unwavering practice in any household.
Not listening to children on Xmas...
Even if saturnalius and all that shyt is made up.
Still at the end of the day,..
Xmas is about children and on Xmas,..you provide exactly for that child.
You go through hell and high water for that child.
You make those phone calls and check shipment days for that child, period.
You get that exact toy, period.

There is no excuse,.......

Art Barr:

You are the Peoples' Champion and Foremost Tableer, but you are ODin' on this.

If you ask a child what they want, they'll tell you a hundred things.

It is definitely the duty of the parents to make their children feel loved and cared for, and parents should take an active concern with their childs' interests. HOWEVER, children are not masters of their parents to be spoiled rotten. The "foremost" duty of the parents is to prepare/adjust their children to cope with the world around them. And point blank - you can't have what you want all the time. The sooner they learn that, the better.

And we also shouldn't be encouraging them to compare themselves to the next kid, because that doesn't set a good pattern for their future, either.

you never grow out of being disappointed in Xmas by a parent.
You just fooled yourself in the interim.
Maybe because you are black, you have come to left parents off the hook.
Yet real talk,..
This new Gen of kids.
The parents who have them all went to school in the nineties.
Where sex ed, was a pre-Req for a full year by law.
Plus real talk, females with kids out of wedlock are college grads.
Plus by federal law, sociology coursework that distinctly.
Gives the factual details on how poverty is produced is required.

As an adult you take accountability.
So our Gen has no excuse for making kids out of wedlock.
Plus they have eic, regardless if they have cs.
So, there is no excuse for that neglect as a parent.
I hold any parent, who can talk to their kids consistently and have access accountable.
For not fulfilling the wishes on Xmas and birthdays of a child.
shyt ain't hard..
The most expensive thing a child can ask for is a damn powerwheel.
A teen will ask for a gift that is three time that at most.
Which is a playstation Gen console or a phone.
Which real talk can and should be planned around the child's choice for communication anyway.
Meaning you got a phone upgrade and children will ask for an iPhone , off top.
Which means at&t,.....you know the deal.
Ask for the ohone upgrade time schedule.
shyt is not rocket science.
I will not accept someone from our Gen, as a parent.
Who got and saw Jordan's, Zelda for 89.99, transformers from optimusbprime to skyfire, cabbage patch kids, NES, SNES, PS, Rambo, defenders of the earth, chuck Norris action figures, flint and ladyjay, and voltron the lion of arus set.
I will not sit here and ever give any nikka a pass for not falling through with that exact gift for a child, period.

NO fukk'N WAY,.....

Yousa dirt ball sonuvabytch for not getting that kid what they exactly wanted.
It ain't 1970's and good times, where Michael only want a basketball.

This is why i just buy people visa gift cards. It takes alot of guessworks and stress out of christmas. Never been a disappointment for me...

Unhappy, about a free gift? :what:
