ok? small sample size....the Steelers game his fumble effectively lost them the game though.

Sanchez wasnt suddenly not a bad QB because it was the playoffs. The guy started 16 games in college....there was no chance it was going to work.
Im just saying man...when team is good, a guy like mark sanchez becomes passable, at least short term. and we both can agree that he wasnt very good ( I wouldnt say he was garbage tho)

long term...well. I dont think it would hurt some of the brain dead qbs like stafford and dalton focus on accuracy and short passing, and being more conservative when situation demands it. you're right in that there are not many classic 'conservative', "game manager qbs" anymore per se

but thats another point. imo there are more good qbs than ever. the elite few are still few, but the good enough ones just keep on coming, just over last few years so many passable qbs entered the league, everyone is finna be throwing 20+ td nowadays.

Stafford needs to get more serious but he's better than Dalton...way better. Dalton gets this season to prove himself...but the Bengals wont give him long term money imo. They might resign him but they'll look to draft a guy if he has another meltdown.

And the Jets were good because they went nuts in free agency signing proven players. They signed the right proven players...but still it eventually caught up to them. The 2012 Jets were the least talented Jets team I've ever seen. And I vividly remember the Kotite teams.

they need to restrict qb contracts to 12-15% of the cap or the nfl will end up with 30m qbs pretty soon

I dont like this line of thinking, its not the NBA. a well put together team with lesser talent will always beat the team that plays only off exceptional talent and nothing else

theres always talent, only few people who know how to fully utilize it to the highest potential. football baseball and soccer are sports where getting the most out of a talent and team building is far more important than individual pure talent.

thats part of the reason qbs are overrated. people really want to see an easy way out where a high-powered passing attack will mask all team-based decencies. it doesnt work like that, never has and never will
oh wow.

A QB does mask all of that.

well, so mark sanchez cant play without talent around him
so cant matt ryan :manny: at the end of the day the teams around him biggest accomplishments are about the same as jets with sanchez

I dont see the difference of why I should pay matt ryan 20m over many years for teams same overall output as jets with sanchez

besides the fluff stuff casuals care about like entertaining game and putting asses into seats, I dont see much reasoning.

Im not into illusions so casual fan garbage like 'oh man we have franchise qb now were so close to competing' is not a reason either.

Matt Ryan just made Harry Douglas a lot of money breh. Matt Ryan wasn't the resason the Falcons had a bad year...and they were far from a true 4-12 team. But it got them Jake Matthews so...going 4-12 aint all that bad.

until the team gets to the playoffs and they're thoroughly exposed.
Like who?

Only 1 team can win the Super Bowl. Teams with elite QB play are highly competitive every single year. That's what is important
