Diet = losing/maintaining weight
working out = looking fit
diet with no workout usually = skinny fat
This.
Diet gets you to the weight you want while exercise makes you feel and look good at that size.
That's why some heavy people can be in good physical condition (heart rate, BP etc) but not look it because they exercise regularly and eat "ok" but cheat enough to keep them from really dropping lbs.
Then the skinny fat folks which tend to go under the radar. Very common especially with women and tall/lanky brehs.
