The Infamous and HOE were dope, P basically carried those albums and even if there was no Hav, I don't think anyone would notice because P took all the shine.

P definitely deserves a mention on the strength of those two albums alone, but Top 5 when you have the likes of Biggie, Jay, Mos Def, Pun, Big L, Ghostface, Jadakiss? It all comes down to what you consider as top shelf lyricism.

meh. the production from Hav was needed regardless. To me a big part of why i consider Prodigy > Nas is because he was fortunate enough to rap over better beats. That's Nas' fault for fukking with trash producers outside of Trackmasters and LES tho.

Prodigy from The Infamous to Murda Muzik is top 3 run ever with Pac and Jay. Fave rapper

I would have to disagree with that...i love threads like these but what gets lost from jump is the impact that an artist had at the time itself.20 yrs later we can dissect and analyze it to death, but we didn't do that when we first heard Infamous or HOE.AZ is a monster and his impact was great but he did not made his mark the way P with that grimy, crime rap around that time, regardless of the decline in skills.Kool G Rap last notable album was that 4,5,6 album,he is the daddy to east coast crime rap but in the mid 90's he wasn't at his peak anymore. Was P the best? I would say no but to just name a bunch of mid 90's rappers who where(semi) hot at the time does not do P justice as far as his impact and influence at that time. His style was copied by a lot of rappers whose names are forgotten but he,at his peak was NY top 5 all day, anyone who actually was old enough runnin the streets round that time can't dispute that.

this isnt about impact & influence.

this is about lyricists.

I was speaking about rapping, Hav rarely ever made a contribution that would outshine P. I'm pretty sure that 99 % of HipHop heads never memorized a Havoc verse, but I'm damn sure almost everyone knows something from P.

But, Hav is a great producer, that is a fact.

No it is not, read back your post and try comprehension before you make a argument...

you're stating preference as an example of facts..so by example any "fact" you bring to your argument is flawed if someone disagrees with you..now troll on my G...

Murda Muzik is 8/10
Pee wasn't as sharp throughout the album as on infamous and hell on earth but he wasn't far behind
He got some of his best verses on MM

Ayo it's hell on earth, down here the pavement's scorching
It's molten rock when the Mobb walks it
shyt get hot like an ill pot of grits spilled on you
Spit fire with 9's that never squealed on you

Aim for the waist, and something on the top gets shot

:mjcry: why you had to go, P?
