Murda Muzik is 8/10
Pee wasn't as sharp throughout the album as on infamous and hell on earth but he wasn't far behind
He got some of his best verses on MM
Yep. And I think there's a strong argument that HNIC/MM era P (they were recorded at basically the same time) is the most accessible P in terms of appeal to both hardcore Mobb fans and more casual listeners. Most respectable hip-hop heads I know that respect Mobb Deep but aren't hardcore fans seem to enjoy Murda Muzik the most out of all their albums. So they will tell you that The Infamous is their best album, but they'll probably say they listen to Murda Muzik the most.

Maybe some of it really is due to P passing away, but I appreciate the retail version of Murda Muzik much more now than I did when it was released.

EDIT: Oh yeah and I still think starting the album off with Streets Raised Me is one of the more creative decisions from a duo. They always started albums off with harder sounding joints, but they opened it up with an introspective joint with an R&B hook.

Vision the canvas I paint a picture...

The sun set looks beautiful over the projects
What a shame, its ain't the same where we stand at
If you look close you can see the bricks chipped off

Sometimes n---as miss when they lick off
Don't get clipped off

:wow:

prodigy's bars are overrated.

it was more about the overall package & presentation.

not saying that he didnt have bars, but he wasnt in the upper echelon lyrically.

most people have a hard time separating that. biggie & krs-one benefit from the confusion as well.

I mean....that's true but ultimately irrelevant. Saying P was more about over all package and presentation than bars would be like saying Hitchcock movies aren't known for their dialogue. While it's 100% accurate....it's kinda like....ok? :yeshrug:
