NYC just isn't like that.

What makes Atlanta unique is the diasporas aren't pockets. Nigerians, African Americans, Afro-Latinos, etc all live in the same communities. Black communities in DC and NYC are segregated.

Plus NYC has no Black Americans anymore :mindblown:

No they aren't. I'd say its more of an inbetween thing. DC especially is more integrated when it comes to Black diasporas because its such a small area of space in the city. Take the 70 to near Howard U and you'll see Ethiopians in dashikis and AA brothas with Amhara styled shirts. There are just areas with higher concentrations of certain Black demos like how Mo County and NoVA has lots of Africans or Ward 7/8 in DC have huge AA populations. Even then, you'll find other diasporas mixed in those more high concentration areas.

I know growing up I lived with Africans, AAs, and Afro-Caribs. It was never a segregated thing, thats more of a LA thing.

They hang out tho? :comeon:

In ATL, I went to school with basically everything, many times finding out a ton of classmates I always thought was AA, was really Nigerian, Dominican, Rican, Haitian, etc. I know NYC isn't like that. Houston maybe. LA doesn't strike me as a Black mecca.

Yeah, you're describing the experienced I lived through. DMV nikkaz might know about Blair High School that's where I graduated from, shyt is like the U.N. for Black People you got so many different types and they tend to hang together especially the guys since police treated us all the same.

Funny enough a lot of the thug nikkaz was Africans but you'd think they was AA nikkaz, that's why I always laughed at the notion that all Africans are well behaved good students. Everyone was Black, any distinctions was just little shyt to clown each other about. Its nikkaz I went to high school with that got deported to their countries cuz of charges and they hardly ever lived there. DC in general has had a very interactive diaspora, it's only the fobs and the older people that segregate themselves.

I guess LA don't count cuz the numbers, but I love Black LA and the culture. But I notice the diasporas are more separate there.
