Like I said in another thread, if you are black or mexican and born in the early 90's on the west coast, there's a good chance you might of been conceived to some DJ Quik, real talk

Yall have no idea how Quik's music was runnin the streets, clubs and house parties in the hood. Women lost they minds and were getting butt naked to this cat's music and the affiliated cats he helped put on. This ain't no revisionist talk or opinion, just stating a couple facts.

Not anyone in this thread I guess but in general thats something people say about him.

Im just saying... just because an artist is one of the first on the scene doesnt necessarily mean they're hugely influential or even make quality music.

I do fukk with quik though, but Kanye is a damn legend..

Dj Quik isnt quite a legend imo. Hes like the Blue Cheer of hip hop... hes a pioneer, very innovative, and has a few releases that have aged pretty well. but he's not a master at his craft, like RZA, Dre Premo etc. and he def doesnt have any classics under his belt.

Kanye has three cemented classics, and he's changed hip hop multiple times.
