I don't fcuks with Dj Quik...

I like Too Short's voice and delivery and I like the beats he used to rap on...He is way better than Quik...Quik really doesn't have a universally accepted banger...
Well see, your opinion is already biased.:patrice:

From you saying you dont fux with Quik- :sas1:

Technically Quik is a overall better MC rhyming, cadence, flow..

One think Short does have over Quik is Short producing his own music early on in his career.

Other than that..

Quik can switch it up where Short is really just rapping..spitting lyrics..

You may be right bout that universally accepted banger tho :patrice:

:what: Quik produced all his albums unless you're saying Shorts production on Born To Mack etc are better than Quik Is The Name etc, I disagree whole heartedly.

Tonite is a "universally accepted banger" just as much as any Short song.

Naw Im saying Short early recordings on 75 girls was him back in 83'-84' when 1st came on the scene.

No samples, or melody or riff rip offs...(no diss to quik) :sas2:

Born to Mack and Quik is the name..two diff time periods in rap..

You cant tell me Quik didnt listen to Short and get influence :usure:

You say no samples etc but no one was sampling like that in 84. Being first doesn't automatically make you better. IMO it's close but I give te edge to Quik, he's had a longer lasting career (debatable depending on when and how you qualify Shorts career), still makes dope music, I dont know the last Short album I bought/listened to but I know lots of people that like the new Quik album. Quik moved away from samples for the most part a long time ago he's known for playing his own instruments on tracks and getting dope session musicians in as well. Short had Ant Banks for a while there giving him dope beats but when he went over to Lil Jon :scust:

An argument could be made for Short being out dated as far as glow goes. He's a lot like the Beasties or Ice T where his flow hasn't change in 30 years but it's still pretty dope anyway it's a catch 22 for that cos I wouldn't want to hear him trying to flip double time or get too complex with the rhymes cos that's not what his music is for.

I was refering to 88; when Born to Mack came out, sampling was the foundation of Hip Hop.

And Quik sampled heavy on Quik is the Name btw.....Ill qive it he was a DJ :yeshrug:

Far as career, Quik hasnt had a resurge yet, Short made impact and reconnected with a new fanbase on "Blow The Whistle"

Even tho that was a loooong while ago.

Btw Book of David was subpar to me..Good production...just didnt do it for me..

This NEW album tho. :lawd:
