Again, you do understand there's a MACHINE backing Dr. Dre. Hits aren't ever organic when you have that machine. That's like saying Drake is better than Black Thought because Drake has the hits and Black Thought do not, negating everything else. We know Drake has a machine around him. That's the same with Dre and always been the case. Imagine Quik having Just Lyke Compton be on heavy rotation on MTV back in those days when MTV didn't push rap videos like that aside from Yo! MTV Raps. Interscope was able to get Dre on radio rotation that NO rap artist could achieve.
im talking about quality of beats, dre has always been a step up from quik. i mean quik is the name is one of my fav all time albums but his production never crossed over into the mainsteam.

How come Quik couldn't make this a hit with the Interscope "machine" backing him in 2007? :sas2:

Did the machine really was backing Quik?

Interesting you didn't mention this.... considering it's a Dr. Dre artist. This was a hit but imagine if it wasn't a Dr. Dre artist like Truth Hurts was no longer after one album. There's politricks in this.

Sorry but nah Quik...your music didn't even have 1/10th the impact of Dre's....Dre pretty much singlehandedly invented the West Coast's signature sound and the derivative artists from Dre are all 10x bigger names than Quik.

Sonicaly, Quik has bangers but impact wise he's a west coast easy mo bee

No. Dre is a better ENGINEER. That's his true gift. But in terms of beats themselves, they are either basic arrangements or OTHER BEAT MAKERS provide Dre with the beats and Dre mixes and master them. Dre ALWAYS had a PRODUCTION TEAM. You rarely see him construct anything from the ground up. And crossing over mainstream is more political as to what's gets played and what's on rotation and so forth. None of Dre's music outright commercial. For instance, that Dr Dre Presents: The Aftermath album DIDN'T hit commercially on radio like that despite the attempt. And it still sold because of the push it had.

That said, this should've been getting more radio play.

Everyone AND EVERYONE agreed that Cold 187um started the G-FUNK sound. Keep in mind that Vocally Pimpin' came out that same year. Let's not do this.
I mean Dre is known to shark beats, sounds, credit...

I should clarify brought signature G-Funk sound to the masses...coast to coast.

Didn't nikkaz4Life drop before Vocally Pimpin?

Forget Timbaland's resume brehs

When Magoo went platinum, the only real star Timbaland had produced was Aaliyah. She was already platinum with her debut album. Timbaland produced Ginuwine's debut and Missy's debut. Outside of those, his other work was SWV and Total before his album with Magoo dropped.

:what:

And Aaliyah, and missy, and ginuwine, and tweet, and playa

Breh, you do realize Magoo's album went platinum. Tweet nor Playa had platinum albums. Aaliyah was platinum prior to working with Timbaland. Missy and Ginuwine were both Timbaland produced stars. Tweet's debut was five years after the Magoo album.

It changes nothing about what I said.
