Vlad didn't come up in the NYC mixtape scene. He moved there in the 2000s when the mixtape scene was just a few years from tapering out. He was a computer programmer prior to that. You're talking like he really has stripes or something. You could wipe his entire mixtape discography off the face of the earth and literally nothing would change.

His voice is A1 and his beat selection at times is A1. Illmatic is an album full of A1 beats. So when a dude like Nas debuts spitting A1 shyt on A1 beats, then starts spitting A2 shyt on C grade beats (Watch Dem nikkas), I'm not a fan because I'm disappointed?

How dare u say its a major step down when half of the rappers in the industry callin it his masterpiece..got rap catz from roc Merciano, Lupe, Joe Budden, Sean Price etc...callin it his best album ahead of Illmatic..
