The reality is that much of the black community's dysfunction is the result of the destruction of the black family which has led to over 70% of black kids raised in single homes. committed functional relationships had children, our community would be much better off even if we were half as big. Your "well dysfunctional black people stopped having kids then the black birth rate would drop" excuse is just sad.

One can pay child support for 18 years and then sever any remaining ties to the child. The mother, however, unless she gives the child up for adoption, is linked for LIFE with that child.
