You ever see a bytch so ugly it make you MAD.
Don't talk about Canibus like that man.

Rap is different tho to a certain extent. Look at a rapper like Jay Z for instance. 2013 Jay is not rapping to the same audience he was in 96. Basically to be uber successful in rap it almost requires that you "sell out" and market your music to the biggest buying demographic aka WHITE PPL. So in a sense a black artist will alienate his ORIGINAL fanbase once he inevitably goes POP chasing them dollars. So can u really blame a fan of REASONABLE DOUBT for not fukking with Jay after he made Kingdom Come??
Artists like Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones dont have this issue. They still making music for them same cacs that was supporting them from the get go. They never had to alienate their fanbases to accrue success because they already had the biggest buying demographic on their side.
There is nothing wrong with black hiphop fans, we just have to deal with white priviledge and those of u who downplay it when building a case against us and why we dont support our artists the same way whites do.
Rap is different of course it is.
But I don't think race has that much to do with it in X's case. I'm sure DMX had a lot of white fans already when he was still spittin' Flesh of my flesh, so that argument of him being forced to abandon his fanbase to appeal to mainstream - I just don't see it.
Jay is a special case. You are right, he's not spittin' to the same audience, but Jay is a phenomenon that doesn't rely only on rap, same as Diddy. He's got other ventures, he's a businessman that managed to make rap music, then use that platform for other things as well - and logically the audience expands and changes. Jay abandoned his RD fans by making Kingdom Come, but it's not because he needed to sell out to the whites, but because he had already established himself to the point that he has listeners from other genres as well.
As far as rock bands mentioned - they don't have to make new music, plus they can start a tour, rest for a decade and the fanbase will still be there.
I didn't say there is something wrong with black Hiphop fans, but ALL rap fans, because they don't appreciate the music made in the past. Even a white guy like Eminem will not be able to rock shows when he's 50.

it's not just white bands. my parents went to see earth win and fire last week, and those old nikkas have been touring for 30+ years doing all the classics and caking. there's no way they CAN'T be getting money with the way they tour. and they know where there bread is buttered by performing all the hits everyone wants to hear.
no , unless hes the producer which he wasnt on thoseStupid question, but Exit Wounds and the other movie with Gabrielle Union is always on some radom channel, isn't X suppose to get residuals from that![]()
Cause a lot the white youth like the classic rock of their parents and always big it up. I remember coming up white kids was always into classic rock and hip-hop and that modern rock was crap!...but it was still Rock and Rock had been around more generations so parent and child liked the same genre.
I think it will change as more generations of black people grow up on Rap and Jay-Z is relevant across several generations. A lot of people had parents that were R&B only back in the day. Hence earth wind and fire could tour and still cake.
On a strictly musical level, Jay's nowhere close to being timeless. He's a larger than life personality who's more revered for the things he's done outside of the booth.
His catalog is filled with a bunch of superficial shyt and a few occasional exceptions.
He's not a transcendent artist on some Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye type shyt.Although he will tell you he is and people will start to repeat it because he's not just a business man, he's a business, man!
