curtis came after X
You're sorta overrating Shyne here broski. Shyne is average at best.
To me, DMX represented that real street, grimy, and raw music that comes up out of New York. IMO he was the last New York rapper to really come with that gritty and street New York sound. It ain't been a New York rapper since him to come with that New York street sound and style that only New Yorkers have. DMX was like the last of the mohicans, he was the last of era, brehs:
That first album is a classic, they don't make em' like that anymore.![]()
No Nas ?biggie and big pun were the only great NY rappers
Guess we gon pretend Shyne is really from Jerusalem now..I listened to Shynes first album more than DMX first two...I might catch heat but its a better album and has aged better imo....one day it will be acknowledged as a classic...but nikkas gon sleep for now I guess

what about Big L?biggie and big pun were the only great NY rappers
Not to mention Pun (and Joey too).Nyggaz is trippin. X was not the only NY nygga spittin grime shyt. And this is comin from a nygga who has all of X's cd's except for the last 2. Yeah X was raw as fucc, he has 3 classic cd's IMO. But u can't sit up here and say that he was the only NY cat to be on some grimey street shyt.
Jada, Styles, Sticky Fingaz, Rae, Ghost, mobb deep, Cormega & Pap all had grimey street songs and or grimey albums/content. How can y'all just discredit those artist I listed and act like they weren't spittin that street shyt?![]()
