Da city where the skinny nikkas die
its not only about Bernie

centrist dems sold out the base of the party long ago

Probably would be better to blow the shid up and destroy the DNC once and for all, start a brand new left wing party from scratch

there's too much Trump fear for that to happen. Dems are gonna do whatever it takes to keep things together so they can win elections. They're not about to try risky strategies now

They still lost all those seats even with the ban in place while the Koch brothers were funding "grassroots" movements on the right. I understand the appeal or even the logic that some on the left have with this money in politics but I think they overstate how non-political junkies really care about some of the issues they raise.
This is just entirely problematic. Cot damn, maybe I do need to still post on here. I still lurk, but there's been so much shyt that I've been watching no one check that it's finally irked me.
Yup. This circular firing squad is useless. Theyre still fighting the primary while regular people are energized elsewhere.
What are you talking about? Most of the people out there protesting supported Sanders in the primary. Have you been to any of these protests? You say Sanders name and the crowd erupts? Where do you think this entire organizing network came from? You think everyday people just went into the streets? These are professional organizers and activist groups who are able to whip members up at a moment's notice. Y'all sound nuts.

@ExodusNirvana I was just going to lurk because the coli and twitter are how I follow the news/current events but these dudes are so consistently wrong it's starting to irk me. I'm about to post up a few articles right quick that (a) explain how Obama fukked up his army, (b) why young people vote the way they vote worldwide, (c) the bullshyt liberals need to stop doing with fanfiction and (d) how the republicans are a dying breed if dems ever get their shyt together.

No referring to Bernie supporters in general but specific segment of left media that is still consumed with primary debates.

Dudes like Zaid Jilani (@ZaidJilani) on Twitter and Michael Tracey (@mtracey) on Twitter Hell the folks I had in mind even think the protests are largely a distraction from Dem internal battle. Think those folks cant see the forest for the trees. Trump's policies have galvanized enthusiasm and opposition that would not have been achieved otherwise.

I'll proudly give the conservatives my vote if a more moderate were to win the conservative nomination

:lupe: What does Neoliberal Twitter have to say about this?

This. I actually liked John McCain as the Republican candidate in the 2008 election. He just chose the wrong year to run by going up against Obama.

So how is the head of the DNC chosen? Are these debates in any way relevant to decisions or more just a pony show type ordeal? :jbhmm:

Congrats, you just described the average White person. I never said she "the homie," but she's not as bad a some of these republicans out here.

She stood up for CHILDREN who were being attacked.

Washington (CNN)Democratic Rep. John Lewis of Georgia called Rep. Keith Ellison the "right person" to lead the Democratic National Committee in a new video out Tuesday.

In the video, Lewis, a civil rights movement icon, explained why he endorsed Ellison -- a Democratic congressman from Minnesota -- for DNC chair, saying Ellison "has the ability and the capacity to inspire people to stand out, to speak up, to speak out."
"We need his leadership. We need his vision. We need his commitment and his dedication now more than ever before," Lewis says. "Keith wants our party not just to wait until the next election but to organize now for the long haul."

Buckley exits DNC chair race, backs Ellison

Lewis had already endorsed Ellison in a letter sent to members of the DNC earlier this month.

Ellison, who's in a competitive race for the job against former Labor Secretary Tom Perez, has also been endorsed by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Perez also received significant backing, including the support of former Vice President Joe Biden and four governors.

DNC members are set to elect a new chairman in Atlanta on Saturday, which is the last possible weekend allowed in the party's charter.

CNN is hosting a debate with the DNC candidates on Wednesday, which will be moderated by CNN's Dana Bash and Chris Cuomo.

@FAH1223

Is John Lewis back to being OK now :sas2: ?

Well, sh_t that was a pleasant surprise. :leon:

Ellison holds edge in DNC race survey

Rep. Keith Ellison (Minn.) has the edge over former Labor secretary Tom Perez in The Hill’s new survey of DNC members. But while both men claim they are close to securing commitments from the majority of the 447 voting members, neither candidate is assured victory.

The Hill has identified the stances of 240 DNC members, either through their private responses to a survey circulated over the past week or from public endorsements.

Out of those who responded, Ellison leads with 105 supporters to Perez’s 57. The remaining major candidates have less than a dozen supporters each, while more than 50 DNC members remain undecided.

It’s possible that a mass movement by undecided voters or a broad change-of-heart could push either candidate to the 224-vote threshold for a first-ballot victory, but it appears likely the race will head to multiple rounds.
