Believe me, we Africans just know

African Americans have a distinct look. Like certain ethnic groups in Africa are easier to tell apart (Berber, Wolof Hausa, Khoisan, Igbo) the same can be said for AAs.

I can't explain it, but it's there.

It's not necessarily your looks. It's how you carry yourself. Mostly mannerism. The way you walk and various other things.

Try that challenge i just posted. Some people keep saying they can look at someone or even a photo and tell. I dare you all to be accurate.
I'm in my avi and moved from WPB to Toronto to MtL.
Guess where haitians are?
Guess who dresses like AAs where there aren't any?
Montreal Haitians.
Y'all have a different look.

How?
Africa is a massive place with numerous people that look different from region to region..anyone thinking all Africans are tall skinny and pitch Black with high cheekbones is sadly mistaken.
Only way you can sometimes tell is by clothing and hairstyles and hair texture etc. I also notice that West African's have stronger more chiselled features than Southern Africans.

Take someone like Michael blackson you can look at him and see he African.

SOme people don't understand that African ethnicities all over the continent are generally pretty homogeneous and each group has a unique look to them...even in West Africa

AA's are a blend of all of those in West Africa, with some non-black mixed in there. So it's not unusual for US blacks to have specific features from different ethnic groups all in one person where we tend to just look different.

In way yes AAs kinda have this new world look and Africans have this rustic mother earth look to them

I get mistaken for being west Indian rather than being west African by foreigners but west Africans would be able to spot me out and know i'm one of them

Again.. you're focusing on the way they dress. The way you carry yourself. Posture and other mannerism things have nothing to do with outfit.

Look at it this way: The typical African American can dress in full African traditional clothing and you can mute him I'll just site back and observe the way he carries himself for a few minutes and I'd most likely be able to tell you he's not african. Same thing for an african Unless he grew up among americans, of course. Americans are very diverse. THey dont have a particular look. It's more of their swagger and the way they carry and express themselves

No. Black people in the Americas look different than Africans because we are native to this land. Same way black folks in Vanuatu or the other Pacific Islands look different from Africans.

Black people are not native to the Americas. Negroes are not Amerindians stop that I wont let you soil the name of those who chose death over bondage

Pacific islanders are closer to Asians than blacks

I'm very familiar with Montreal. I was in Montreal just last month from the 17th to the 22nd. I was in the Laval area. I've seen some of those Haitians and a lot of them are Haitians who were either born or grew up either in the U.S. or Montreal. They are not 100% representative of the typical born and raised haitian. Trust me i can tell the difference. YOU, as a human being tend to mimic what/who you grew up around. Thus why some say AAs are similar to white Americans. They dont mean it in a bad way. But as you grow up you adapt certain things from what you SEE every day

How are you going to tell me what I see? I'm not looking at all that...I can just tell and there are no other AAs besides me here.
Even the St. Vincentian dude has a distinct "look"...I can tell he's not haitian and I can tell he's not AA.
These people are "Canadianized"...so you can kinda dead all that "distinct swagger" talk...that doesn't exist here.

CHALLENGE FOR THE CLONES

This goes to all of you who claim you can accurately tell who's from where or even who's american and whos not. Now i've gone to my facebook account and found random women i personally know and have deep knowledge of their family backgrounds. Some of them i'm related to. I wanna see you find me who's from where. These arent glamour shots . I found random pics of them in mosly everyday type outfits and makeup but i've made sure to throw some curve balls in there. They vary in age anywhere from 24 all the way to upper 50s.
You find me who's from where. :smugdraper:

I hate violating peoples privaciy by posting their pics online but im also tired of you geniuses always saying this shyt. Let's hear it, genius.

Most AAs grew up in AA neighborhoods, so we didn't "See' white people every day.
Laval is not Montreal. I'm in CDN...Actual Montreal.
