My coworker was talking to me about the Africans we work with and she said that when I first got hired she thought I was African when she saw my name (Nigerian descent on my father's side. He ain't shyt though ). When she saw me on my first day, she said she was surprised I was "just a nikka". She described African features on some and was like American blacks just have a specific look that even foreigners can identify with before hearing your accent. I know I can usually spot Africans pretty easily but that's only because growing up some of my boys were African with African parents, just born here. They still have the features just not the accent. My mother is from Boston with deep family roots in D.C. so she's full Black American and that's where I got the genes to look "American". Is there any truth to this?

She is ignorant. However I personally can tell when it comes to how people dress, their personality, and mannerisms if they are foreign or black american. Facial and body features are not a indicator.

Most AA are 3/4 African and 1/4 European so yes we look different from someone who's 90-100% African

The Caribbean is to diverse some look closer to us while other look closer to Africans

It's not necessarily your looks. It's how you carry yourself. Mostly mannerism. The way you walk and various other things.
