and your explanation is wrong, its totally valid to compare scores

but thats not the real issue, the issue is that you dont have any real ideas on how to improve schools

There's nothing wrong with my explanation you're comparing apples and oranges. It's a CATO puff piece that ignores societal issues that exist and focuses on cost per pupil as if that alone is supposed to mean anything.

You can't put the responsibility solely on schools and expect change. If you don't understand that than there's nothing to discuss.

Don't bother responding to me.

so in other words, you dont have any ideas on how to reform schools

School improvement money that isn't directed at infrastructure would be better utilized by just straight up handing these kids a check upon graduation (just like when you leave prison).

It'd be cheaper, more efficient, and would simulate the economy.

All a kid needs to learn is a person who cares and some books.

Everything else is a financial scheme to enrich consultants, business people & unions.

True.

I think its because of the melting pot theory and capitalism here in America.

Japan, India, Nigeria etc all have pretty much the same "type" of people which leads to a greater since of unity amongst them. They feel empowered and want to succeed to honor their family and country.

Here in America we have the freedom and resources to start a business, where 50- 80% fail. False opportunities here in America brehs/ettes
America also leads the world in patents and innovation due to the fact that we don't treat our children like robots when it comes to school.

This whole theory that "giving out green ribbons to everyone and making them feel special is destroying our country" is bullshyt. We encourage our children to be free thinkers and tell them that they are capable of anything and it's why we are so innovative.

Asian countries kick our ass when it comes to implementing shyt that's already been developed, but they struggle when it comes to developing their own technologies (China's constantly trying to steal our shyt) because they are so methodical and hard on their children.

In a country that literally runs on innovation and services instead of manufacturing, we damn well better continue to embrace free thinking, reach far the stars mindsets, even if it means our test scores don't match up all the time.

this article pointed out, or brought up, that a lot of people (myself included) are quick to assume that these schools are so underfunded, but that isnt the case

But can you understand why schools in inner city districts may need more funding per pupil?

Kids in the city are more troubled than their suburban and wealthier peers, if it requires more money to get them up to level I don't see the issue.

yeah they need more funding to pay for waste and corruption and unionized teachers

You don't know anything about education stop quoting me.

I wonder how living conditions play into this. Healthcare, work-life balance for parents, nutrition, housing, safety, etc. Socioeconomic conditions outside of the building might be a larger factor in performance. Seems like folks just wanna holler about privatization rather than discuss what's keeping poor/minority children behind.
